ENJOY TRAINING AND SEE RESULTS!

One of the big reasons for being inconsistent with our training is because we are not doing what we enjoy! We put ourselves through programmes that have worked for others but offer nothing for us.
•
100 calories burned is 100 calories burned whether you burn them through running, swimming, boxing, weight lifting, sailing, walking etc.... what you have to do is find something active that you enjoy and stick to that so if you enjoy walking give yourself the time to reach a step goal in a day, if it’s Boxing that floats your boat then get yourself down to a local club and train there. Don’t settle for something you don’t enjoy just because someone tells you it worked for them.

You will see results if you stay consistent and you stay consistent through doing things you enjoy.

OFF THE SCALES
•
How do you measure your success from training? The most common way is through weighing ourselves on the scales.
How often are you disappointed with the results from the scales?
•
Our weight is not the only factor of success and to believe it is only leads down a path of disappointment, there are so many other ways to measure our success including:
- Actually measurements: measure the areas of our body where we want to loose fat/ gain muscle
- Take progress pictures: seeing visual differences in our appearance tells us a lot more on how we are progressing than the fluctuating numbers on a scale
- Check your skin: a natural way to have healthy skin is through sufficient exercise and healthy eating habits
-Assess your mood: regular exercise puts you into a more positive mind frame, it allows us to have more energy during the day and helps us to rest better at night.

The only time you need to be concerned about the numbers on the scales are when you are going into a competition with weight categories I.e Boxing, sailing etc. With so many alternative ways to measure success in training why put yourself through the demoralising route of scales?

FOCUSED

Stepping back into the ring, this time we are lifting weights rather than hitting the pads, the workout plan was created to help compliment Luke’s Muy Thai performance.
•
Today’s session we worked on Chest/Arms and Core, working on small rep ranges and focusing on our time under tension. the reason we worked out this way was because we wanted to have the muscles working harder over a longer period of time which optimises the muscles strength, endurance and growth.
•
Although the workout feels slow the effects afterwards are amazing, this is a great method of training if you’re looking to switch up your programme a bit or if you are plateauing in the gym this is a great method to help break through.
