Tyler has applied his coaching approach to life-coaching, freediving, swimming, surfing, and software/computer systems. Freediving: With 15 years of freediving experience and a passion for sharing the wonderful atmospheres and marine life of the underwater world, Tyler offers courses (AIDA Education) and private coaching. Achieving elite level freediving performances, Tyler has participated at multiple high-profile events as a primary safety freediver, as an assistant instructor at the Vertical Blue course, as a co-founder and board member of AIDA Canada, as a private coach, and trained with a number of the world’s top freedivers. Combined with his general coaching approach outlined above, you can expect the best attention to the details of your freedive, solutions to the most difficult individual obstacles to freediving and perspective of how to appreciate the marine world as you never have before. Having equalizing difficulties shallow or at depth? Developed anxiety, fear, discomfort, contractions, or unknown mental block to achieving depth? Tyler specializes at guiding you to your solution, whether you are an elite or beginner freediver. Swimming Proficiency: In 2008-2011, Tyler co-developed a freestyle swimming education system named Sensational Freestyle and applied it through the private coaching company SeaHiker. Sensational Freestyle introduced and refined participants’ freestyle stroke by prioritizing aquatic awareness, technique and proprioception, as opposed to obsessing over and/or questioning their ‘brute-force’ fitness as a swimmer. Whether new to swimming or refining your stroke, learn to improve your flow through water, your ease to breathe, and to minimize exertion. Great experience for adult learners, triathletes, and young competitive swimmers looking for critical attention to their performance.
