Curious about how Breakaway works?
Well I talked to Ashley at Andalucían Cycling Experience a bit more about that here.

Breakaway cycling and coaching – how does it actually work?
After I mentioned Breakaway with Mark Taggart in my last newsletter, some of you got in touch with me to ask: how does it actually work?
So, I asked Mark to give me some more info. Here's the shape of it.
Before we go
I, Mark, will spend time online with each person before we travel - getting to know them and understanding a bit more about what they're bringing to Andalusia to work on.
While we're there
Once we're out there, we’ll work predominantly as a group. This is a group of senior peers, who’ll have many decades of experience between them.
On the first day, we’ll spend some time early on just getting to know each other properly. After that – most mornings will include a group coaching session, where everyone can share what they're experiencing, bring their own challenges, and get support and perspective from the rest of the group. That continues out on the bike too – some of the best conversations happen riding side by side, not sitting in a room.
It’s not about taking notes (pretty hard on the bike!) It’s about listening and sharing.
Alongside that, everyone has access to optional one-to-one sessions with me across the five days, if they want to go a bit deeper or explore something a little more confidential. That's part of the week, not an extra.
One thing not to forget here is the power of reflection. The brain continues to work once we've opened up new possibilities and that's why, at Breakaway Andalusia, there is time in the afternoons to relax. Whether that's around the pool, a walk into Ronda, or an optional massage, you'll find that that time thinking will really help you move things forward the next day.
A bit on how I coach on the bike
For anyone wondering what "coaching on a bike" actually looks like – it's something I do regularly back home too, one-to-one. Before we ride, we talk through what's on the client's mind. While riding, it's light questions and prompts woven into the conversation, not a structured grilling – side-by-side beats face-to-face, every time. Afterwards, we talk through what's come up and what they're taking away to action.
Bring those two things together – proper, structured coaching with the trust that builds when you're riding alongside someone – and that's the heart of Breakaway Andalusia.
