This weekend saw 4 Caius crews racing Spring Head 2 Head with another set of great results across the board.

M1 were the fastest crew of the day, once again winning their division in a strong start to the term 🥇

M2 were the fastest M2 and 7th fastest crew overall, narrowly missing out on the win in their own division 🥈

W1 were the second fastest women’s 8+ of the day, again missing out on the win in their division to a strong Trinity Hall W1 🥈

W2 also put in a strong performance in a very competitive division!

After an incredible term of rowing from all of our crews, we are delighted to announce that our O1 crew took home Men’s Headship of the river in this year’s Lent Bumps! We would like to thank Clare, Downing and Lady Margaret Boat Clubs for putting up a strong fight and we will see you all next year.

O2 also bumped every day to secure blades, and are now the highest 2nd Lent crew. They bumped three O1 crews (Churchill, Girton and Homerton) followed by Lady Margaret O2 on the last day of racing.

Our women had a more mixed week, with W1 starting in an extremely difficult position on the river they were unfortunately bumped by Pembroke W1 and then a blading St Catherine’s W1.

W2 were denied their promotion to the women’s 2nd division this year by an unfortunate technical row over on their second day of racing, but are well within reach of this goal next year.

After copious celebrations from all crews, we will start looking ahead to May Bumps where both W1 and O1 crews are within reach of Headship.

Another week, another set of HUGE Caius results! This weekend saw 8 Caius crews racing Pembroke regatta, with an enormous FIVE wins across the top boats and alumni crews 🥇🥇🥇

After a shaky start to the term, W1 won their final by a commanding 2.5 lengths, while M1 took home the win by 1 length. M2 also won their division - beating three M1 crews along the way!

W2 suffered an unfortunate blade clash in their first race, whilst M3 and W3 put in valiant efforts for their first (senior) side-by-side racing.

In the alumni divisions, a dominating women’s alumni crew won by a margin of “easily” and a super fast start saw the men’s alumni win by 1.5 lengths.

Last weekend saw another successful round of racing from both our M1 and our W2! W2 were the fastest W2 crew of the day, narrowly missing out on the overall win in their division, but still coming home with an extremely strong result 🏅.

🥇 M1 put in another incredible performance, as the fastest crew of the day they won their division by 49 seconds. We are super excited to see how they both perform next weekend at Pembroke Regatta, and it is shaping up to be a very exciting bumps week!

After an extremely competitive weekend of racing, a huge congratulations goes to BOTH our M1 and M2 crews, who won their respective divisions in winter H2H on Saturday 🥇🥇!

M3 placed a respectable third in their division, and W1 put in a strong performance in a highly competitive top women’s division.

This is an encouraging start to what will surely be a hugely successful bumps campaign!

Earlier this January, CBC travelled to Seville for our annual training camp, bringing together a mix of novice and senior rowers for a focused, highly productive and rewarding week of training 🇪🇸☀️

The camp provided an excellent training environment, with long, wide, uninterrupted water offering a lovely contrast to the River Cam. Across the week, two men’s and women’s boats logged significant mileage, building endurance and confidence ahead of the start of term.

Off the water, Seville also offered a brilliant opportunity to strengthen the club as a whole. Time spent exploring the city, socialising, sharing meals, and training alongside different crews helped build connections across experience levels and reinforced the strong sense of community that defines the club.

With a solid training block completed and momentum building across the club, camp has played a key role in setting up a competitive and exciting Lent Term 🕊️

Before getting into the excitement of Lent Term, we’re taking a moment to reflect on a hugely successful Michaelmas for Caius Boat Club 🩵🕊️

Fairbairns was the highlight of the term and a brilliant showcase of the depth across the club. Our M1 four dominated their division, taking the win by an incredible 9 seconds. M1.5 delivered a strong performance, placing 3rd among Cambridge college crews and 4th in their division, while our W1 four also cooked up a storm, finishing a solid 4th in their division. There were even more standout results across the club, with W2 finishing second overall among women’s second boats.

Our novice squads rose to the occasion in style with NM1 and NW1 placing 8th and 11th among novice first crews respectively, both delivering exciting racing on a big stage. NM1 and NM2 also had strong perfomances showing real grit and progress, laying strong foundations for the term ahead.

With huge success across novice and senior racing, we are massively excited to see what Lent Term has in store! 🚣

For those who have been following our Movember fundraising efforts (link in bio), you may have noticed we have hit over £200 worth of donations!

To recognise this, we have a few challenges which will be completed as we have hit certain milestones with our fundraising, detailed above.

We will be posting progress updates on these challenges but in the meantime please keep donating if you would like to see the women spend 24 hours in the boat house, or see some of our rowers go to caius library in kit! 🩵🖤🩵
