August is almost over! Ask a local (or Franky) for their favorite month in Tarifa and September will probably be pretty high on the list!
The summer season is still in full swing, but the beaches slowly get less crowded. The Atlantic is warm, the days are still long and sunny and Levante and Poniente keep giving us plenty of opportunities to get on the water.
Los Lances with a little more space? Yes please. 🤙
And after your session, summer isn’t over either. Grab a cerveza at the beach, head into the old town for tapas or drive towards Valdevaqueros and watch the last kites come off the water as the sun goes down.
Less crowds. Plenty of wind. Warm days. More space on the water.

Actually, you don’t even need to have touched a kite before.

Who else loves summer in Tarifa? 😎
August in Tarifa means long days, busy beaches and checking one thing before breakfast: Levante or Poniente?
When the Poniente is blowing, you’ll find us out at Los Lances enjoying those classic Tarifa conditions. And when the Levante (offshore wind) kicks in, the whole coastline changes its character, we have rescue boats on the water, lessons continue!
After the session? Sandy feet, something cold to drink and sunset at the beach. That’s pretty much our current daily routine.
Temporada alta, viento on. ¡Vamos! 🇪🇸

Tomorrow will be special in Tarifa 🌒🇪🇸
On August 12, Spain will experience a solar eclipse — and here in Tarifa we’ll see a partial eclipse in the evening: It begins at 7:44 PM, reaches a maximum coverage of about 93.6% at 8:39 PM just before sunset, and ends at 9:16 PM.
Imagine this: a full day by the Atlantic, a kite session at Los Lances and then watching the evening sky change as the moon passes in front of the sun. Kites, ocean, Andalucía and an eclipse? Not your average Wednesday!
