World Paella Day at La Marina
Today's the day Valencia's most iconic dish takes over the world stage — happy World Paella Day! 🥘

Head down to La Marina de València (Plaça de l'Aigua, next to Tinglado 2) where 12 international chefs are battling it out live for the World Paella Day Cup, from 10:00 AM until around 5:00 PM. Watching is free, and you can grab a tasting portion for around €6 once the popular paellas start serving at 2:00 PM.

Rent a bike from us and cycle straight down to the port — it's a flat, easy ride along the Turia riverbed or seafront, way better than hunting for parking on a day this busy. Arrive early, watch the chefs cook over open wood fires, then reward yourself with a plate of the best rice dish on the planet.

Held on the last Sunday of August, this fire-filled celebration turns Paterna’s Calle Mayor into a unique pyrotechnic show and is recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage event and a Festival of National Tourist Interest.

🚴 Gandia is made for a full day out on two wheels! 🌊

Train from Nord to Gandia. Start at the station and follow the Riu Serpis route down toward the Grau, then take the bike path to the coast, the marina and the promenade. It’s an easy, scenic ride that gives you river, city and sea in one go.

Loop back through the Marjal de Gandia, with a stop at the Marjal visitor centre and a chance to enjoy the wetlands before heading toward the beautifully renovated Castle of Bayrén area for the views.

Then it’s just an easy return to the station — quiet paths, quiet roads and a lovely mix of nature, beach and history all the way.

🎶 Festival season is still going strong near Valencia!
Rototom Sunsplash lands in Benicàssim from 16 to 22 August, so it’s the perfect excuse for a beach-and-music getaway. Take the train with your bike and cycle through town down to grau by bike path, along the promenade and you’ve got the ideal summer plan.

Music, sea breeze and easy cycling — that’s the vibe.

🌊 Cullera is a perfect mix of coast, river, castle and easy riding! 🚴‍♀️

Arrive by train and start from the station, then follow quiet paths and calm roads down toward the Júcar River (also seen in photo) and out along the promenade. From there, you can keep it simple with a scenic coastal ride, or add a little adventure with a walk up to Cullera Castle for the views over the town, the sea and the river valley.

If you’re in the mood for a longer day out, continue along the coast and finish at Aquópolis Cullera if that’s your thing — a fun end to a relaxed ride by the beach.

It’s one of those routes where you can keep things easy and flat, or add a bit of hill and hiking for the full Cullera experience.
