State number 50!! 🇺🇸
Back in 2009 I started running, & made a goal to run a marathon in all 50 states.
This weekend was the Garmin Marathon in Olathe, KS. 2:58:40
It’s been such a fun journey; meeting new friends & exploring new places.

“I’M NOT A RUNNER”
“I’M NOT FAST”
“I DON’T HAVE A RUNNERS BODY”
You can be whatever you tell yourself you can be. If you truly want something, don’t give yourself any excuses.
Everybody starts somewhere.
Deal with the shin-splints, deal with the knee pain, deal with the Achilles tendinitis. Eventually it will all pass, & your body will follow your mind. 💪💪

per·sist·ence
/pərˈsistəns/
noun
firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.
Each Monday for the last 3 weeks I’ve been trying to break 5 min in the mile at the track without pacers (something I’ve never done before).
This morning it finally paid off!🙌
Shoutout to for all the advice & encouragement along the way!🙏

About 6 months ago I had the goal of running 2:49 at the
The training build was going well, then suddenly 2 weeks ago I had a freak hamstring issue & could not run. For 2 weeks it was only biking, rest, & treatments.
I flew to Germany🇩🇪 anyway, & yesterday I tested it out on the hotel treadmill & got 1.5M in 15 minutes (10:03p).
Today was all about survival mode. Just finish, try not to die, & try not to do any long-term damage to my hamstring.
The gun went off & I didn’t look at one mile split the entire race. From the first kilometer on, my hamstring was tight, but not painful, & my legs felt like they were going to sieze-up & cramp at any moment.
Although I missed my original goal by 25 minutes (3:14:46), I’ve never been so proud of myself & so happy with my performance at any marathon (today was # 58)!
Today really was all about the journey!🏃🏼♂️➡️

Are these actually healthy? Many protein bars are loaded with added sugars & processed ingredients. I thought this was an accurate article about protein bars.
For me, two things I always look at (and want to be very low):
1. Added Sugars
2. Number of Ingredients
I like to have bars on hand when I'm in a pinch, for instance:
- Long car drives
- Snacks during sporting events, shows, flights (places that don't have many healthy alternatives)
- After a run when I'm not going to be home right away.
A few of my go-to bars are: Picky Bars, Rx Plant-Based Bars, & Aloha Bars.

Fun article in the NY Times. Tom Brady is in his 23rd year at QB. They (NYT) went through census bureau data & found other top 1%’ers in their professions.
From a 70yr old Paramedic, to a 95yr old Artist, & 82yr old Logger. See what makes these longevity masters tick!⏳⏱️🙌
