We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our specialized training for 20 police and justice officials in the Tigray Region. Under the COTPPR Project, this initiative focused on enhancing the investigation of trafficking cases involving women and children.
Through this training, a new coordination network has been established to ensure that 100 priority trafficking cases are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted. CVM remains committed to upholding the dignity of domestic workers and securing justice for survivors.

A two-day workshop for members of the Andinet Domestic Workers Union was held on December 22–23, 2025, in Bahir Dar, Amhara Region, under a project entitled “Promoting Safer Migration in Ethiopia” implemented by CVM Ethiopia with the support of the Freedom Fund.
The workshop engaged 67 participants from domestic worker associations across Addis Ababa, Amhara, Tigray, Oromia, Sidama, Central and South Ethiopia, Harar, and Dire Dawa, together with key stakeholders from CETU, BoLS, Immigration, and BoJ.
The sessions focused on safe migration, domestic workers’ rights, and national legal protections, in line with Proclamations 923/2016, 1246/2021, and 1389/2017. Participants were also introduced to the digital Labor Market Information System (LMIS) as a tool for safe and informed migration.

CVM Ethiopia successfully conducted a two-day Life Skill Training for Minor Domestic Workers under the project “Africa Children for the Future.”
The training aimed to strengthen girls’ knowledge, confidence, and self-protection skills so they can better navigate daily challenges and resist human trafficking.

CVM Ethiopia, under the CoTPPR Project, conducted targeted training for police and justice officers to improve the investigation and handling of human trafficking cases involving women and children.
The training covered national proclamations, international standards, investigation procedures, coordination mechanisms, and priority actions for protection and prosecution.
This initiative strengthens the commitment of law enforcement bodies to ensure accountability, justice, and protection for victims of trafficking.

CVM Ethiopia, under the CoTPPR Project, successfully conducted a Training of Trainers (TOT) for CETU leaders and Domestic Workers’ Associations in Sidama, Hossana, and South Ethiopia.
The training focused on ILO Conventions C189, C089, C143, decent work, safe migration, and referral pathways for victims of violence.
Participants were selected based on their commitment to advocacy, contract promotion, and knowledge-sharing within their communities. Resource persons were provided in collaboration with BoWCSA, EWLA, and Wolaita Dicha DWs Association, Hossana DWs Association,and Hawassa DWs Association.
Through presentations, group discussions, testimonies, and experience sharing, leaders strengthened their capacity to advocate for rights, safety, and justice for domestic workers and children.

CVM Ethiopia successfully held a Regional Sensitization Seminar under the CoTPPR Project to promote the rights and professionalization of Domestic Workers.
Key partners, including MoLS, BoWCSA, CETU, and Women’s Affairs, led sessions on:
✔ Draft domestic work regulation
✔ Safe migration & employment contracts
✔ Roles of regional stakeholders for ILO Convention 189
✔ Joint action planning for stronger protection of DWs
The seminar brought together key actors from Sidama, South Ethiopia, and Hossana to strengthen commitment toward fair employment, policy reform, and protection of domestic workers.
