Thank you for your good feedback on THE WORLDS 24 😀 It makes us very happy!

The event would not have been the same without the many volunteers and their immense work input! This is a BIG SHOUT-OUT and THANK YOU to everyone, who gave their time and effort before, during and after the event to ensure a professional, fun, engaging and nice experience for all the sailors, their families and friends, and all involved.

So many people made it all happen - the race, the collaborations, the construction and setting up/wrapping up the harbor & activity area, the inspections, the general arrangements and after sailing events, the communication, the food & catering, the boatslip and trolley work, the RIBs and the spectator boats, the transportations, staff's uniform tags and T-shirts and those helpful hands and advice whenever needed.

You are wonderful 🤩, and so much appreciated! Thank you to each and everyone.

The WORLDS week offered sailors a whole spectrum of weather conditions, from very light wind to almost stormy wind. The wind was blowing more or less from North, and there were quite a lot of pressure differences and shifts making sailing tricky! In hard conditions, sometimes sailing demands almost acrobatic performance! This is how it's done - see this cool video clip 🔥🇸🇪 😎

The Eastern harbor in Hanko, is the Finland's biggest marina. This pearl of the Baltic sea has been the "home" for our boats and dinghies in Hanko during the Europe Class Worlds Championship 2024, and we have felt so very welcome each day! We have gotten used to the personnel of HSF MARINE greeting us with wide smile every morning, helping us with our questions and providing us with all the service, tips and slips we might have needed. 😀In addition, their nice saunas also have the best view ever! Many thanks , much appreciated!

THE WORLDS 4th day provided challenging NW wind blowing from over land resulting in choppy waves and shifts. This kind of wind has been prevalent throughout the race so far. In the morning, the wind was light, but it picked up nicely during the day up to 6-8 m/s. Three races were sailed today, and one more is scheduled for tomorrow - being the last one of the Worlds 2024. Let the Sea Entertain You!

We had the honor of having Tapio Lehtinen, The Patron of The Europe Class World Championship 2024, visiting Regatta dinner yesterday.

He highly appreciates the Europe Class sailors and has a call-for-action for us all.👇

02/08/2024

Dear Europe Class family, we were delighted to see you all in the Regatta Dinner last night. Sophisticated and historical Hanko Casino provided us a beautiful stage to celebrate Europe Class, it's skillful sailors & athletes, legends & friends, organizers and honorary guests: Minister Sari Multala and Patron of race Tapio Lehtinen. Food was tasteful, atmosphere warm and tables filled with smiling people & laughter.

Please find below highlights from the speech given by Sari Multala, Europe Class World Champion 2001, Olympic sailor and current Minister of Science and Culture of Finland.

"I’m delighted that the sailing regatta for this wonderful and well-established class of dinghies is being held in Hanko. Hanko has long experience in organizing regattas as well as expertise in hosting international events."
"I sailed a Europe dinghy myself from 1994 to 2005 and cherish many great memories of international competitions around the world from those days of sailing. The Europe is a fine dinghy that demands not only tactical skills but also technical knowledge and physical fitness. In fact, the Europe teaches you virtually all the basics of sailing, including how equipment evolves. It gives an excellent foundation for sailing in almost any sailing class."
"Nature has always been a powerful resource for people in Finland. The natural habitat nurtures our wellbeing and boosts our resilience. I’m pleased that the organizers of the Europe Class World Championships have decided to promote sustainable development and wish to respect and protect our nature and watercourses."
"I wish everyone taking part in the Europe Class competition the best of luck!"

Cheers to Europe Class:
"To the regattas we'll always remember with the friends we'll never forget."
