It’s been quiet on our side this year. During the Norwegian championship in September we got demasted during the first race, so our season got cut short. In 2020 we’ll be back with a new (to us) boat! Happy new year from Parody Sailing Team!

The Nordic/Norwegian championship is over and we ended in 8th place. On Saturday there was zero wind, so no sailing (but we got to sail the M32 in the afternoon instead, which was awesome). Sunday started out with AP because of little wind, but it picked up after a while, and we got to sail three races. The first two, we don’t talk about... the third one was ok and we got a 10th place.
It has been an amazing weekend, and probably the best Norwegian championship we’ve been to. The people arranging have done a great job both on the water and on shore. Thank you, Kristiansand!
Also, thanks to Karl Otto Book from Elvstrøm Sails A/S for stepping in as tactician while Knut is sailing around in the Indian Ocean.
Here’s a video of day two, and a bit of day one as well:

First day of Nordic and Norwegian nationals is over and we sailed three races in mixed and interesting conditions. It’s been a great day with sunshine, wind and flat water. We placed 2nd, 6th and 8th, putting us in 4th place over all out of 40 boats, so in other words, we’re having a great time here in Kristiansand. New day tomorrow!
Here’s a great video from today:

Practice weekend this weekend, and its blowing a steady 30-40 knots. We went out sailing, and this is how it went (🎥 Stian Østlund):

The world championship is over and we ended in 40th place out of 59 participating teams. On the last day we finally got the boat going like its supposed to, and we got a 22nd place in the final race, which was our best result. After doing some small adjustments and changing to our good gennaker, our sailing improved a lot on the last day. A bit late to do anything about the overall score, but at least we were reminded that we need to do changes sooner when we see that things aren't going our way. Hopefully this is something we will remember at the Norwegian championship in September.
Over and out, until then!

Day two went a bit better than day one. Today we sailed pretty evenly, with results in the early 30s every race. Lots of action in the mark roundings, with one collision with another Norwegian boat. We got some slight damage, but nothing we can't repair. Our starts were much better today, as were our downwind legs, where we managed to overtake plenty of boats every time. After almost 9 hours on the water today, we are exhausted, so peace out (until tomorrow) and enjoy this marvelous picture of us!

Practice day is over, and although we chose the wrong side of the course, we still managed to get good boat speed and ok maneuvers. Tomorrow is the first day of real racing, so let's hope we're more awake!
