Miekkailuseura Habda ry

Eilen vietettiin aurinkoisessa säässä Suomen Olympiakomitean järjestämää Olympiapäivää, jossa Habdakin oli mukana esittelemässä miekkailua. Laji keräsi paljon huomiota ja pisteellä kävi koko päivän hyväntuulinen kuhina.

Kiitokset järjestäjille ja vapaaehtoisille tapahtuman mahdollistamisesta! Toivomme, että kipinä miekkailuun syttyi mahdollisimman monessa paikallaolijassa.

The autumn season is underway!

Our coached training sessions at Habda kicked off earlier this week, and today we celebrated the start of the autumn season at Kisahalli and Töölönlahti. 🤺

Miekkailun MM-kisoissa ratkottiin tänään miesten kalvan mitalistit. Kultaa vei tällä kertaa Sveitsin Malcotti.

Kerkko hävisi valitettavasti ensimmäisen ottelunsa 64-cupissa, joten Kerkon lopullinen sijoitus kisassa oli jaettu 39. sija.

Upea tulos ensimmäisistä aikuisten sarjan MM-kisoista! Onnittelut!

Suomen osalta kisat jatkuvat tiistaina naisten joukkuekisalla ja keskiviikkona miesten joukkuekisalla. Tsemppiä!

Today at the World Fencing Championships, the men's épée individual medals were decided. Switzerland's Malcotti claimed the gold medal.

Unfortunately, Kerkko lost his first bout in the Table of 64, finishing the competition in a shared 39th place.

An excellent result at his very first Senior World Championships – congratulations, Kerkko!

Team Finland returns to the pistes on Tuesday in the women's team épée event and on Wednesday in the men's team épée event. Good luck to the whole team!

Kerkko selvitti jo torstaina hienosti tiensä 64 parhaan joukkoon Hong Kongin MM-kisoissa. Huomenna miekkaillaan loput ottelut.

Kerkko kohtaa ensimmäisessä ottelussaan Kazakstanin Prokhodovin, joka on FIE-rankingissa sijalla 26. Ottelu alkaa Suomen aikaa klo 4.50 ja ottelua voi seurata livenä Fencing TV:n kautta (ilmainen, m***a vaatii rekisteröitymisen https://fencingtv.com/).

Kerkko secured his place among the top 64 at the World Championships in Hong Kong with a strong performance on Thursday. The remaining bouts will be fenced tomorrow.

In his first direct elimination match, Kerkko will face Kazakhstan's Prokhodov, currently ranked No. 26 in the FIE World Rankings. The bout starts at 4:50 a.m. Finnish time and can be watched live on Fencing TV (free to watch with registration).

Miekkailun MM-kisojen toinen päivä on saatu päätökseen.

Kerkko miekkaili alkuerissä upeasti 6/6 voittoa, mikä tarkoittaa sitä, että Kerkko pääsi suoraan 64-taulukkoon. Kerkon kisat jatkuvat siis sunnuntaina, jolloin Kerkko kohtaa ensimmäisessä ottelussaan Kazakstanilaisen Prokhodovin.

The second day of the Fencing World Championships has come to an end.

Kerkko delivered an outstanding performance in the preliminary pools, winning all six of his bouts (6/6)! Thanks to this excellent result, he advances directly to the table of 64.

Kerkko will be back in action on Sunday, where he will face Kazakhstan's Prokhodov in his opening table of 64 bout.

Miekkailun MM-kisojen ensimmäisenä päivänä miekkailtiin naisten kalpaa ja miesten florettia.

Habdan Outi miekkaili alkuerissä 3/5 voittoa, jonka jälkeen hän voitti 128-cupissa Sveitsin Hatzin lukemin 13-9. Seuraavassa cup-ottelussa Venäjän Rustamova oli parempi lukemin 15-8. Outin sijoitus lopputuloksissa hienosti 88.

Suomen joukkueesta Suvi selvitti upeasti tiensä 64 parhaan joukkoon eli hänellä kisat jatkuvat lauantaina 25.7. Suvi miekkailee silloin Viron Lehistä vastaan.

Huomenna miekkailualueelle pääsevät Suomen kalpamiehet. Habdasta mukana kisoissa on Kerkko.

The first day of the World Fencing Championships featured the Women's Épée and Men's Foil events.

Outi finished the pool round with 3 wins out of 5 bouts. She then defeated Switzerland's Hatz 13–9 in the Table of 128 before being stopped by Russia's Rustamova, who won 15–8 in the next direct elimination bout. Outi finished in an excellent 88th place overall.

Suvi delivered a fantastic performance, advancing to the Table of 64 and securing her place in Saturday's competition (25 July). She will face Estonia's Lehis in her next bout.

Tomorrow it's time for the Finnish men's épée fencers to take to the piste. Habda's Kerkko will be representing both Finland and our club.

Miekkailun maailmanmestaruuskilpailut alkavat huomenna Hong Kongissa. Suomesta mukana on neljä miekkailijaa naisten kalvassa sekä neljä miekkailijaa miesten kalvassa. Habdasta mukana ovat Outi ja Kerkko.
Suomen naiset pääsevät miekkailemaan heti huomenna.

Finland is represented by four women’s epee fencers and four men’s epee fencers. Habda is proudly represented by Outi and Kerkko.

The Finnish women will take to the piste already tomorrow.

🤺 Vuoden 2026 senioreiden EM-kisat ovat käynnistyneet Ranskan Antonyssa. Ensimmäisenä kisapäivänä vuorossa oli miesten kalpa ja naisten säilä. HABDAn Kerkko Järvi oli mukana edustamassa kalvassa ja ylsi suomalaisittain päivän korkeimpaan sijoitukseen, sijalle 46. Kerkko miekkaili erissä hyvin ja pääsi suoraan 64-cuppiin. Pudotusottelussa kuitenkin Turkin Doruk Erolcevik pudotti Kerkon pistoin 15-11. Mainittakoon, että erässä Kerkko päihitti kilpailun lopullisen voittajan, tuoreen Euroopan mestarin Simone Mencarellin (ITA), ollen ainut joka kyseisen kundin pystyi tänään voittamaan.

Suomalaisten ja HABDAlaisten kisat jatkuvat torstaina naisten kalvan yksilökisassa, jossa meiltä mukana Outi Jaakkola! Miesten joukkuekisa seuraa pe 19.6. ja naisten joukkuekisa su 21.6. Tsemppiä mestaruuksiin! 💪🦄

🤺 The 2026 European Senior Championships have started in Antony, France. On the first day of the competition, men’s épée and women’s épée were the events. HABDA’s Kerkko Järvi was in the épée and reached the highest Finnish ranking of the day, 46th place. Kerkko fenced well in the poule round and qualified directly for the 64-cup. However, in the direct elimination match, Turkey’s Doruk Erolcevik knocked out Kerkko with the score ending 15-11. It should be mentioned that in the poule, Kerkko defeated the eventual winner of the competition, the new European champion Simone Mencarelli (ITA), being the only one who was able to beat the eventual winner all day.

The championships continue for Finnish and HABDA fencers on Thursday with the women’s épée individual competition, where Outi Jaakkola will be participating from the club! The men’s team competition will follow on Friday 19.6. and the team competition on Sunday 21.6. Good luck with the championships! 💪🦄

Miekkailun aikuisten EM-kisat alkavat huomenna Ranskassa.

Huomenna miekkaillaan miesten kalpakisa. Habdasta on mukana Kerkko Järvi ja muut Suomen edustajat ovat Jaakko Paavolainen, Marko Kuhta ja Topias Tauriainen.

Naisten kisa käydään torstaina. Habdasta on mukana Outi Jaakkola ja muut Suomen edustajat ovat Anna Vuorinen, Anni Vornanen ja Suvi Lehtonen.

Miesten ja naisten joukkueet osallistuvat myös joukkuekilpailuihin.

The Senior European Fencing Championships begin tomorrow in France! 🇫🇷🤺

Tomorrow, the Men's Épée competition takes place. Kerkko Järvi will represent Habda as part of the Finnish team, which also includes Jaakko Paavolainen, Marko Kuhta, and Topias Tauriainen.

The Women's Épée event will be held on Thursday. Outi Jaakkola will represent Habda, while the other members of the Finnish team are Anna Vuorinen, Anni Vornanen, and Suvi Lehtonen.

Both the men's and women's teams will also compete in the team events later in the championships.
