As the last days of Suomen suvi fade, itâs time to shake the sand from our toes and get back on the grind. đ«đź I just took my gravel bike out for a spin, rolling through the âhoodzâ and listening to my favorite tunes. Itâs a good reminder that every season has its own beauty. They say life is a highway, so letâs get back on the saddle and make this ride the best one yet.

Finally riding a BMC - and not just any, but the Teammachine SLR Mpc.
Built it up with "leftover" SRAM Red/Force AXS and went full versatility mode with three wheelsets:
-Aero road: Enve SES 5.6 + 30mm tires
- All-road: Enve SES 4.5 + 32mm Gravel Kings (picture)
- Climber setup: Extralite < 1100 grams + 28mm tires
Itâs a 56 cm rocket, and I love how modern road bikes can do it all. Fast, light, smooth â whatever the route throws at you.
Canât wait to take it to Spain in September!

What a season openerđ„đ„đ„ brought 400 gravel-hungry souls to Porvoo for some serious type-2 fun.
Sun was almost out, gravel was perfect, legs⊠slightly less so.
So good to reunite with the dusty gang â bikes, banter, and borderline suffering. Love you allđ«¶

This year at I hit survival mode around kilometer 120. My longest ride so far this year? 140 km, in total before Traka 750 kmâs⊠in pancake-flat Southern Finland with climbs so gentle they barely qualify as speed bumps.
But The Traka? Oh no. Itâs got mountains. My Garmin kindly informed me I climbed over 2600 meters. Eight climbs in total â four were okay, the other four felt like climbing with a fridge strapped to my back.
Thank goodness for my Bose speaker. First song that blasted on a climb? P!NKâs Try. And let me tell you â I tried. Tried so damn hard. That chorus hit me right in the legs:
âJust because it burns doesnât mean youâre gonna dieâŠâ
Well P!NK, it burned. Bad. But I kept going.
One kilometer at a time. One salty snack at a time. One dramatic eye-roll at each false summit. Made it to the finish. Somehow still upright.
Moral of the story? Never underestimate Spanish climbs⊠or the power of pop music.

The roads and views at deserve a post of their own. Absolutely stunning! I wanted to gather these amazing shots here since itâs nearly impossible to capture moments like these during the race. Enjoy the ride!

Gravel lovebirds, uniteđ
Selling not one, but TWO Pelago Stavanger gravel bikes â a perfect match for a couple OR for someone manifesting a gravel soulmate into their life.
These steel beauties come with Shimano GRX and have seen some good times as rental bikes (so yeah, theyâve got stories and a few paint scuffs to prove it). BUTâregularly serviced like royalty after every ride.
Think of them as the âslightly used but emotionally availableâ kind. Lesser ridden, better maintained â basically the opposite of most dating profiles.
Steel frames, so scratches? No biggie. Unlike carbon, they wonât ghost you after the first bump.
Slide into the DMs if interested. Prices are low, quality is high, and long-term potential? Off the charts. Size 48 and 51. Look Pelago site for the geo etc details. Located at Finland, Uusimaa - no shipping.

Hey, itâs been a while! Recovering from the flu gave me a moment to finally look back on my 2024 cycling season â and wow, what a ride it was. I didnât really have time last year to post anything, with a few big projects (including building a cabin!) taking the spotlight.
But with the new season about to kick off, I figured Iâd clear out the photo roll and drop some highlights from last year, starting with one of the toughest rides: The Traka 200k.
Brutal climbs, long hours, and unexpectedly⊠it was my core that gave out first. Those steep uphills had my lower back cramping like never before. Still, I pushed through and made it under my goal time â just under 10 hours.
Not sure if Iâll beat that this year â I might be aiming more at survival mode with all the cabin construction instead of serious endurance training. But letâs see what happens!
Hereâs to another great season of gravel ahead.
