A Place to Connect. 💡

In summer 2026, Omnigym installed outdoor gym equipment at an Emmaüs Solidarité shelter in Paris to make physical training accessible to people experiencing homelessness, a group that is often overlooked.

One month later, residents were invited to share their experiences and describe what the outdoor gym meant to them.

90% of respondents said the outdoor gym has helped them meet and talk to other people.

Access to exercise, better health, and human connection should not depend on your income or circumstances.

We’re happy to see that British YouTuber Sam Bentley shared our story on his channel, where he highlights good news and practical solutions to global challenges.

What is Active Ageing?

Active ageing isn’t just about adding years to life. It’s about adding quality, independence and confidence to those years.

Outdoor gyms can play a meaningful role by bringing accessible strength training closer to where people live. When exercise is free, nearby and easy to use, it can become a natural part of everyday life.

Research shows that diverse and regular physical activity can support independent daily living and help prevent falls and fall-related injuries.

Omnigym is democratising physical training by making outdoor training accessible to all, including senior citizens.

Active tourism is on the rise, but holiday budgets are getting tighter.

This makes accessible, free, on-site activities increasingly relevant for campsites. Sometimes, the best activity is simply right where you stay.

At the Eco-Resort and Camping in Seignosse, France, Omnigym tested exactly that. The outdoor gym equipment was placed so guests could train directly in the natural surroundings of the campsite.

The result? 80 visits to the most popular equipment in a single day, with peak usage between 7–8 PM.

🐚 A meaningful seashell park in Singapore!

At Seashell Park in Pasir Ris, Singapore, large white seashell structures are integrated into the greenery. With Omnigym outdoor gym equipment installed inside some of them, the park creates a unique setting for outdoor training.

The public park was renewed with the local community involved in shaping the space. Today, it has become a popular destination for outdoor training.

The result? A space shaped around what people want, bringing the local community together and inspiring people to stay physically active.

Local organisations focused on active ageing run weekly group training sessions for senior residents at the outdoor gym.

The Omnigym installation shows how outdoor training equipment with adjustable resistance can be thoughtfully integrated into the landscape, creating a natural connection between exercise, nature and everyday life.

A great reminder that thoughtful renewal of public spaces can make it easier for people to find time to be active in their everyday lives.

Something positive to do.

Having somewhere to go and something positive to do can make all the difference.

In summer 2026, Omnigym installed an outdoor gym at an Emmaüs Solidarité shelter in Paris to make physical training accessible to people experiencing homelessness, a group that is often overlooked.

One month later, residents were invited to share their experiences and describe what the outdoor gym meant to them.

90% of respondents said the outdoor gym had given them something positive to do.

This feedback is a reminder of why listening to residents matters. Many cities and municipalities already involve people in shaping their local neighbourhoods.

Understanding what makes a difference in people’s everyday lives is an important part of that work.

-

Something positive to do.

It might sound like a small thing. But it can mean having a reason to step outside, move your body, clear your mind, see familiar faces or simply spend time outdoors.

Everyone deserves a place where they can feel welcome. Everyone deserves access to physical activity.

Easy access to physical training can have a powerful impact. Yet many people face barriers to being active. Omnigym partnered with Emmaüs Solidarité to install outdoor gym equipment in the courtyard at one of its shelters in Paris.

45% of Europeans never exercise or play sport 💡

The People’s Gym Initiative shows the benefits of having access to free-to-use outdoor gym equipment close to home, even in places where the need for it is often overlooked. It also highlights a wider challenge facing society: across Europe, physical inactivity continues to be a significant concern.

Omnigym partnered with Emmaüs Solidarité to pilot outdoor gym in Paris. The purpose was simple: to make physical training more accessible to a group that is often overlooked, despite the clear benefits of physical activity.

Access to physical activity should not depend on where you live or your circumstances. Everyone should have the opportunity to be physicall active.

Many cities are starting to realise the benefits of Omnigym 💡

In Helsinki, Finland’s largest outdoor gym has been installed to meet the growing demand for outdoor training in and around the rapidly growing Kalasatama neighbourhood.

Located in Mustikkamaa Sports Park, the outdoor gym features 25 pieces of Omnigym outdoor gym equipment, most of which have adjustable weights and are designed to serve a wide range of users.

Connected to Kalasatama by a pedestrian and cycling bridge, the outdoor gym brings free, accessible physical training closer to where people live.

The new Kruunuvuori Bridge, Finland’s longest bridge, also connects Kruunuvuorenranta with Korkeasaari, making the outdoor gym easily accessible by foot and bike or public transport also from different parts of eastern Helsinki.

As cities grow and neighbourhoods become denser, creating opportunities for people to be physically active close to home is becoming increasingly important. Omnigym is democratising physical training by removing common barriers to physical activity.
