Kuutamoluistelu - perjantaina 26.2.2027 klo 18–20 🌙⛸️

Finland Ice Marathonin kuutamoluistelu kutsuu nauttimaan talvisesta illasta Kuopion matkustajasatamaan. Perjantaina 26.2.2027 klo 18–20 pääsee luistelemaan tunnelmalliselle radalle kuunvalossa.

Jäärata valaistaan tunnelmallisesti suomalaisilla jätkänkynttilöillä, jotka tuovat iltaan lämpöä ja ainutlaatuista talvista tunnelmaa. Kauniissa talvimaisemassa on myös hienoja kuvauspaikkoja, joten kamera kannattaa ottaa mukaan. 🔥📸

Älä missaa mahdollisuutta luistella kuunvalossa! Tule nauttimaan luistelusta, talven tunnelmasta ja ainutlaatuisesta Kuopion satamamaisemasta.

Moonlight Skating - Friday, 26 February 2027, from 6–8 pm🌙⛸️

Finland Ice Marathon’s Moonlight Skating invites you to enjoy a magical winter evening at the Kuopio Passenger Harbour. On Friday, 26 February 2027, from 6–8 pm, you can skate under the moonlight and experience the beautiful winter atmosphere.

The ice rink will be beautifully decorated with traditional Finnish jätkänkynttilät – Finnish log candles, creating a warm and atmospheric setting for the evening. There will also be special photo opportunities around the rink, so don’t forget your camera! 🔥📸

Don’t miss out on ice skating under the moonlight! Come and enjoy skating, the magic of winter and the unique atmosphere of Kuopio’s harbour.

Registration for FIM 2027 opens this November! ❄️

Get ready to experience the ice, the winter and the unforgettable atmosphere of Finland Ice Marathon.

The course is made on the natural ice of Kallavesi. From middle of January until beginning of March, you can ice skate, cycle or kick sled in heart of Finnish lakeland.

Lake Kallavesi is part of the Kuopio and Savo identity. Lake Kallavesi is home of Finland Ice Marathon which is one of Finland's oldest ice skating events on natural ice.

Maintenance of Kuopio’s natural ice skating tracks has ended for this season. Thank you all for a fantastic skating season 2026!⛸️

Kallaveden luonnonjääradan hoito on lopetettu tältä talvelta. Kiitos käyttäjille! 😊

Myös jäälatujen hoito on lopetettu tältä talvelta. Maalatujen hoito jatkuu niillä osuuksilla, missä lunta on vielä riittävästi.

Tämän hetkinen keli ja sääennusteet eivät näytä lupaavilta hiihtokelien jatkumisen kannalta. 🌧️ Puijon ensilumenladun osuus kestää pisimpään vallitsevia olosuhteita. Kunnostuksien ajantasainen seuranta: https://kuopio.fluentprogress.fi/outdoors/

Huonokuntoiseksi merkatuilla osuuksilla on jo paikka paikoin maat näkyvissä ja latupohjat ovat jäiset. Latujen hoidossa edettävä päivä kerrallaan. 👍

Tapahtuma sai huikean arvosanan 9,8/10 ja Net Promoter Score oli 76 – osallistujat siis suosittelevat tapahtumaa aktiivisesti eteenpäin. Lisäksi 100 % vastaajista kertoi tulevansa uudelleen luistelutapahtumaan.

Lämmin kiitos kaikille osallistujille, vapaaehtoisille, yhteistyökumppaneille ja sidosryhmille – ilman teitä tämä talvinen elämys ei olisi mahdollinen!

Finland Ice Marathon 21 February 2026 – Race Day Course Update

We’re looking forward to skating in beautiful winter conditions! 💙

The event will take place on a 7.5 km course. Detailed lap information is available on the event website under race info. 📲 The race info will also be sent to all participants by email.

The cold winter with little snowfall has provided excellent conditions for building the course 👌
However, prolonged freezing temperatures have caused natural cracks and fissures in the ice, and minor surface fractures may also be present.

On race day, the course will be groomed with large machines to make it as smooth as possible 🚜✨ Apart from the natural cracks, the surface quality will be even better than a traditional artificial ice rink.

⚠️ Important Safety Tips

👀 Keep your eyes 10–20 meters ahead to spot cracks in time.
⛸ Cross cracks smoothly – slightly lighten your weight and keep your skates straight.
↔️ Maintain a safe distance to the skater in front of you.
🔄 When overtaking, always ensure a safe skating line.

Cracks are a natural characteristic of lake ice and a normal part of an event like this. With awareness and anticipation, the course remains safe and fast.

❄️⛸ Finland Ice Marathon 21.2.2026 – Kisapäivän ratatiedote

Luistellaan upeissa talviolosuhteissa 21.2.2026! 💙

Tapahtuma luistellaan 7,5 km radalla. Tarkemmat tiedot kierrosmääristä löytyvät tapahtuman nettisivujen kisainfosta. 📲 Kisainfo lähetetään myös kaikille osallistujille sähköpostitse.

Kova pakkanen ja vähäluminen talvi ovat suosineet radantekoa 👌
Pitkään jatkuneet pakkaset ovat kuitenkin aiheuttaneet jäälle runsaasti railoja ja halkeamia, ja pinnalla voi esiintyä myös säröjä.

Tapahtumapäivänä radat ajetaan suurilla koneilla mahdollisimman sileiksi 🚜✨ Railoja lukuun ottamatta rata on laadultaan jopa parempi kuin perinteinen jäädytetty luistelukenttä.

⚠️ Tärkeät turvallisuusvinkit

👀 Pidä katse 10–20 metriä eteenpäin, jotta havaitset railot ajoissa.
⛸ Ylitä railot hallitusti – kevennä painoa hetkeksi ja pidä luistimet suorassa.
↔️ Pidä riittävä turvaväli edellä menevään.
🔄 Ohitustilanteissa varmista aina turvallinen luistelulinja.

Railot kuuluvat luonnonjään ominaisuuksiin ja ovat normaali osa tämänkaltaista tapahtumaa. Huolellisella luistelulla ja ennakoinnilla rata on turvallinen ja nopea.
