Vaasa CC played in the 1st division for 2 years in 2010 (after topping 2nd division league in 2009) and 2011.
One of the most northerly clubs in Finland in the Finnish cricket league currently (2013) playing in the SM40 2nd Division, after starting in the Open-T20 in 2007.

A fantastic day of cricket in Vaasa! 🏏
Today we hosted Tampere Eagles Cricket Club for two friendly matches at Huutoniemi, and what a brilliant contest it turned out to be. We played two games — winning one and losing one — but more importantly, both matches were extremely close and highly competitive till the very end.
This is exactly what cricket is about: strong competition on the field, great spirit off it. 💪
A big thank you to Tampere Eagles Cricket Club for making the trip and for the excellent games. We truly appreciate the sportsmanship and the long-standing relationship between our clubs.
We’re already looking forward to visiting Tampere later this season and continuing this great cricketing connection! 🤝

🏏 Outdoor Season Begins in Vaasa! 🌿
We are excited to officially kick off our outdoor cricket season this Sunday, 26th April!

First outdoor cricket session of the season and 13 of us turned up 🙌 It was fantastic to get some proper training in before our first friendly this Saturday against Tampere Eagles.
The boys looked sharp and ready to go. Together we’re strong 💪 Hopefully we’ll give our best this season and create some great memories along the way. Let’s rock! 🏏🔥

What a performance at the Turku Indoor Tournament! 💪🔥
Out of 12 teams, we were the only team to remain unbeaten throughout the entire tournament — a true reflection of our dominance, consistency, and belief.
The final was an absolute thriller, ending in a tie, and the trophy was shared. But beyond the result, one thing is clear —
we played like champions from start to finish. 🏏👊

A statement by our dearest and dedicated Councillor Lukumanu Iddrisu regarding the development of cricket facilities in Vaasa:
Last year, I met with cricket enthusiasts who expressed their concerns about not having sufficient practice fields. Together with members of the Vaasa cricket club (Faisal Imran and Ankit Talati), we met with the chairman of the sports committee (Mika Lehtonen) and discussed the details and plans for a befitting cricket pitch.
It is good to hear that our discussion has led to the construction of the cricket pitch at Huutoniemi, which is scheduled to start this spring and will be available next summer. This is an important and concrete step forward.
In today’s council meeting, I expressed how it is part of our duty to support residents in getting their concerns addressed, and to create an environment of inclusion, community, and a sense of belonging for all, as well as how this development supports the city’s new strategy.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved in promoting this issue.
