Tänään nautittiin todella kansainvälisestä parkrunista, sillä mukana oli vierailijoita Vietnamista, Englannista, Irlannista, Pohjois-Irlannista, Saksasta ja Ruotsista. 😊
We've had a truly international event with visitors from Vietnam, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Germany and Sweden 😊

How many people can say they ran a parkrun in the morning and collected a swimming medal from Santa Claus in the evening?

On 15 August, you can.

Join us for parkrun in Oulu, then hop on a train to Rovaniemi (departures at 12:20 and 14:23) and take part in the inaugural Santa's Challenge: a 1.5 km open-water swim on the Arctic Circle, taking place in the evening.

Cross the finish line and you'll be greeted by Santa Claus himself, who will be handing out medals to all finishers.

Two Finnish sporting legends will also be joining the event. Their names will be revealed soon, so keep an eye on the event page for updates.

The swim follows a beautiful route along the Arctic Circle, with water rescue and first-aid cover provided by the experienced team from Rovaniemi Swimming Club.

Vuoden toistaiseksi kuumimmassa parkrunissa meillä kävi turisteja Australiasta,Pohjois‑Irlannista ja Englannista. Iso kiitos Lontoon Partickille, joka oli vapaaehtoisena takimainena, ja Oulun Antille, joka on tuonut vesipulloa juoksijoille maalissa juotavaksi. 💦

On the hottest parkrun day of the year so far we welcomed tourists from Australia, Northern Ireland and England. Big thanks to Patrick from London who volunteered as tail walker and our regular Oulu runner and volunteer Antti who had a surprise delivery of water bottles for our participants. 💦
