Old Town Shamrocks

A tough day at the office as claimed a 19–0 victory in very wet and challenging conditions.

Once again, OTS travelled with only 15 players and no replacements, but the boys in green put in a determined performance and kept the game tight throughout the first half, trailing just 5–0 at the break.

As the rain continued and the game wore on, Turku were able to make use of their bench while Shamrocks began to run out of energy. Three yellow cards in the second half meant OTS spent periods of the match playing with 13 men, making the task even more difficult.

There were still plenty of positives to take away. Captain Akseli Peltoniemi led from the front and was deservedly named Man of the Match, while Hasitha Jayasena impressed on his Shamrocks debut with a strong all-round performance.

The focus now shifts to another huge challenge as Porvoo continues its campaign with a crucial away fixture against next Saturday.

ROAD TRIP.

The Shamrocks head to Turku this Saturday for another important SM-sarja clash as we take on Turku Eagles at Impivaara.

After a tough opening round, the boys in green are looking to put in a strong performance and bring valuable points back to Porvoo. A mix of experience, leadership and young talent will pull on the green jersey as we continue our 2026 campaign.

Leadership group locked in for 2026.

Akseli Peltoniemi returns as Captain for the upcoming season. Akseli has been a leader within OTS for years, serving both as captain and vice captain, while also representing the National Team as vice captain. His experience, standards, and commitment continue to set the tone for the squad.

Joining him is Alexander Bannatyne as Vice Captain. One of the most experienced players in OTS, Allu steps into the role after another outstanding season. The 2025 Player of the Year has been a backbone of the team for years with his vision, control, and kicking game, and he will no doubt continue to lead from the front in 2026.

OTS enters the 2026 season under new head coach Thierry Demoulin, with a refreshed squad, new energy, and a lot changed since last year.
