Siittolamme eläinlääkärinä alusta asti toiminut Satu Olkkonen siemensi hienon sh-tammansa Kipunan Tärkein Herkko Hurmauksen pakasteella. Koko siittolaväen riemuksi tamma todettiin eilen tiineeksi. Vielä on siis mahdollisuus ihan omaan Herkkolaiseen varsaan joko ostamalla tämä varsa tai vaikkapa koko paketti sillä molemmat ovat myynnissä. Herkon pakastetta on myös myynnissä ja nythän sen on todettu myös toimivan!

Vaikka oriasemat Euroopassa sulkevat jo oviaan niin me jatkamme aina siihen saakka kun tarve vaatii. Kesä tuo odottamattomia yllätyksiä ja tamman tiinehdyttäminen saattaa tullakin yllättäen ajankohtaiseksi. Koska kausi on kuitenkin lähestymässä loppuaan teemme esim. ultraukset ja siemennykset kertamaksuilla (kts hinnastomme) kausimaksun sijaan ja 15.8. jälkeen aloitettujen tammojen astutusmaksusta palautamme puolet mikäli tamma ei tiinehdy.

Florestan was born in 1986, bred by the traditionalists Grit and Eberhard Schulte-Böcker in Germany. While he would go on to be a global icon, he didn't start his career in the limelight of the show ring. Instead, he instantly wowed the judges.

At the 1988 Rhinelander Stallion Licensing, Florestan was crowned Champion. Shortly after, he aced his Stallion Performance Test in Warendorf with a stunning score of 129.02 points. Pretty impressive for a "pretty face," right? 🤔

The "Pretty Face" Myth 😉
Here's a fun fact: In his early breeding years, Florestan was actually critiqued by some who thought he was just "a pretty face" and nothing more. Oops. 🫢

He initially covered mares live in Bad Sassendorf and didn't produce massive numbers of foals. But as soon as his first offspring hit the ground, the critics were silenced. They weren't just good; they were spectacular. Florestan stamped his foals like no other.

Susanne Rimkus, head of the Warendorf State Stud, famously described it best:

"What makes a sire special is that he makes more good foals than bad ones... he is a ‘stamp’ stallion, he stamps his foals... Here comes a foal – ‘oh a Florestan!'"

He wasn't just producing horses; he was creating a dynasty. 🏰

The Bloodlines: Fidelio x Rheingold 🧬
Florestan's pedigree is a masterclass in dressage genetics.

Sire: Fidelio – A son of the legendary Furioso II (a Selle Français stallion who revolutionized German breeding). While many thought French horses "couldn't do dressage," Furioso II proved them wrong, and Fidelio carried that torch.

Dam: Raute (by Rheingold) – This mare was a champion in her own right, crowned Young Broodmare Champion at the National Broodmare Show in Verden. Raute brought the Trakehner influence (via Rheingold) to the mix, adding elegance and rideability.

Florencio (Florestan x Weltmeyer), for example, won the World Young Dressage Horse Championships for both 5- and 6-year-olds and has become a top sire in his own right. Meanwhile, Fürstenball and First Dance continue to pop up as names of champions worldwide.

Susanne Rimkus nailed it when she said:

Siskosten emä Verona KS kilpaili itse GP- ja SM-tasolla esteillä.
