Paikkallisderby is Back!

FC Santa Claus ja Rollon Pojat (RoPo) iskevät yhteen miesten Kolmosen odotetussa Rovaniemen derbyssä uusitulla Keskuskentän nurmella torstaina 4. kesäkuuta kello 19.30.Kausi on alkanut joukkueilla eri merkeissä. Sarjanousija FC Santa Claus hakee vielä parasta iskukykyään kärsittyään viime kierroksella tylyn 0–4-tappion Kajaanille. Vastaavasti RoPo liitää vahvassa vireessä otettuaan vakuuttavan 3–0-voiton viime ottelussaan KePSiä vastaan. Paikallisottelussa mitataan kaupungin herruus, joten jaossa on tärkeiden sarjapisteiden lisäksi roppakaupalla paikallisderbyyn kuuluvaa hegemoniataistelua.

Luvassa on helteinen ilta joukkueille ja samalla tavoitellaan ennätysyleisöä kun pukit haastaa nimekäät ja kokeneet pojat.

FC Santa Claus is a finalist in the Logo of the Year competition! 🎅⚽️
The story of our iconic crest dates back to the mid-1990s. It was crafted by the renowned illustrator Lasse Katainen—the creative mind behind many famous sports logos, including the current RoPS emblem.
While Lasse originally envisioned a more ”high-speed” look for the logo, the final design was a result of collaboration. In the 90s, sponsors and the tourism industry played a major role in shaping the visual identity. Given the massive importance of Santa Claus and tourism to all of Northern Finland, their vision was spot on: for the past 15 years, FC Santa Claus has enjoyed incredible international recognition.
The final logo draws heavy inspiration from the official ”Santa Greetings” look, which operated alongside the Santa Claus Main Post Office and the Office in the Santa Claus Village. These partners, together with the Santa Claus Foundation, were instrumental in our journey throughout the 90s and early 2000s.
