-10 Jyväskylä Cricket Tournament 2026 (Season 3)

Thank you Team Jyväskylä for your response. We appreciate that you addressed the matter, but unfortunately, many important facts were ignored or presented misleadingly.

First of all, our first match was scheduled for 10:40 AM, and we had already been at the field since 10:00 AM and then waited nearly one additional hour after the scheduled start time because there was no umpire, no proper preparation, and insufficient manpower from the organizing side. In fact, the Jyvaskyla management themselves informed us that they had only 12 players available at the ground and did not have enough manpower to start the game. Despite this, our team stayed patient and cooperative.

You mentioned that “all the anger and frustration of Domus team came after this incident which they misinterpreted throughout the tournament.” This is completely baseless and appears to be an attempt to hide the mismanagement that existed from the very beginning of the tournament.

You also claimed that umpires had already warned our captain about players speaking during delivery. That is simply not true. No such warning was given to our captain. During the incident, we clearly informed the umpires that the sound came from outside the field, which is also clearly audible in the video clip shared on your own page. We then requested the main umpire to discuss the matter with the leg umpire. After discussion, both umpires stood by the decision of No Ball and Not Out — and we respected that decision without any further argument. In fact, the video evidence itself shows that we returned to the game normally afterward, and we have attached the clip in the comment section for everyone to see.

Our concerns were never about one single decision. Throughout the tournament there were repeated interruptions, poor time management, umpires repeatedly forgetting ball counts, and confusion during gameplay. We also still do not know who bowled under the name “Sher E Khoda.” A player suddenly started fielding without Team Jyvaskyla jersey, and when Team Jyvaskyla published the squad list, the name Abdul Khadir Khan Murad was not included. These are valid concerns that were never properly clarified.

The second match raised even more serious concerns. During our batting innings, the main umpire was suddenly changed in the middle of the over without informing Domus Tampere, and the replacement umpire came from the Jyvaskyla side itself. At a crucial moment, the leg umpire clearly called a No Ball due to waist height. However, the main umpire intervened and attempted to overturn the leg umpire’s decision and give the batsman out. Our captain and manager protested because the leg umpire had already called it a No Ball, as the delivery was clearly above waist height, and changing the decision afterward without properly consulting with the leg umpire created further confusion and frustration. Despite this, the main umpire continued pushing to reverse the call and give the batsman out. At that point, after repeated incidents throughout the tournament, frustration reached its limit and we decided to step away.

Yes, one of our players reacted emotionally and kicked the stumps. We do not justify that action. However, highlighting only that isolated moment while ignoring the continuous issues, inconsistent umpiring, lack of neutrality, and poor handling of the situation does not present the full truth. After the second match incident, we also informed the Jyvaskyla team manager about our concerns, and his response was that last year they had also lost one match due to umpiring from our side, so we should keep this into our account as well. Such a response only raised further concerns about neutrality and professionalism.

We joined this tournament to enjoy fair and respectful cricket. Unfortunately, based on the events we experienced, we genuinely believe Domus Tampere Sporting Club was not treated fairly.

Despite everything, we still hope future tournaments will improve in professionalism, transparency, communication, and neutrality so that cricket continues to unite communities instead of creating division.
