🌍🔥 AFRICA, LET'S WALK TOGETHER! Three Countries, Seven New ONWF Instructors, One Shared Dream - Nordic Walking Connects Us! 🙌❤️

Sometimes, great international cooperation begins with a simple introduction, a professional exchange of ideas, and a willingness to share knowledge. 🤝 This is how the story of developing ONWF Nordic Walking in Benin, West Africa, began.

In September–October 2026, a training programme took place in Porto-Novo, bringing together sports professionals, educators, researchers, and coaches with a shared goal: to make Nordic Walking an accessible and effective tool for health, physical activity, and rehabilitation. 🌱

🌍 The outcome: 32 participants took part in the training, and 7 new instructors successfully completed the instructor training programme! They represent three African countries and bring diverse professional backgrounds, including physical education, sports science, adapted physical activity, and scientific research.

🎓 Snizhana Bezega coordinated the training and delivered the theoretical component in cooperation with Angelina Zatezalo. Angelina, from Serbia, led the practical sessions on site, working directly with participants on Nordic Walking technique, movement coordination, posture, arm action, and effective pole propulsion across different types of terrain.

☀️ The programme combined theoretical learning, practical sessions on a sports court and outdoor trails, training in challenging hot-weather conditions, and a final assessment of knowledge.

🥢 NORDIC WALKING TAKES THE EXPO BY STORM! Huge energy from our friends in Uruguay! 🇺🇾 💚 🔥

Three days of demonstrations, first steps with poles and a team full of passion! 🥢🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ Our friends in Uruguay brought Nordic Walking to Expo Deporte y Bienestar and showed just how much energy our wonderful community has! 🌎 🤩 👏

📅 On October 2–4, 2026, at LATU (Uruguay’s Technological Laboratory), instructors and walkers joined forces to introduce visitors to Nordic Walking. They held demonstrations on all three days, answered questions, shared flyers and encouraged people to pick up the poles and give it a go! 🙌 🥢 💚

And the response? Plenty of curiosity, poles in motion and visitors eager to join a basic course! 🤩 People who had never heard of Nordic Walking discovered a new activity and an enthusiastic community ready to welcome them. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️🤝

Their passion reached beyond the Expo, too! 🎤 📺 Interviews with Canal 5 TNU and a Canal 12 programme, streaming coverage and Instagram reels helped bring Nordic Walking to even more people! 📱 🌎 🥢
