​Today was a day of double celebration for the Yaro Chiefs.

Not only did the team claim victory in today’s Loloma 7s tournament at Nadovu Park in Lautoka but they also farewelled for Tomasi Stark or Vuluma as they know him, who has been called up to the Fiji 7s team for Hong Kong.

​For Tomasi, a first-time traveler, this is the dream of a lifetime. For Radini Lawa, Adi Mereani Tabusoro, it is a beautiful full-circle moment.

Having nurtured these boys from their very first days in camp, seeing Vuluma head off for national duties is the ultimate reward any mother would want.

​Reflecting on the journey, Adi Mereani acknowledged God’s hand in it all:

Yaro Chiefs and Ravuka Sharks are through to the final!

Two teams from Nadroga, Yaro Chiefs and Ravuka Sharks will battle it out at the final of the 2026 McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s tournament at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka later this afternoon.

Yaro Chiefs beat Police Blue 17 - 12 after play went into extra time.

Ravuka Sharks defeated a strong Mike Friday Select team comprising of national team members and several international stars 14 - 12.

The final will kick off at 5.35pm.
