🌊 PADDLE FOR HOPE | Stand Up Paddle Against Single-Use Plastic 🌊

We are proud to support and share Paddle for Hope, an incredible 28-day journey around Viti Levu raising awareness and inspiring practical action to protect our rivers, reefs, mangroves and coastline πŸŒŠπŸŒΏπŸ‡«πŸ‡―

The journey is already underway and will travel right around Viti Levu throughout September, connecting with communities along the way through paddling, coastal clean-ups, recycling, education and community action.

To all our sailing, paddling and ocean community ... get involved!
Follow the journey, join in when it reaches your area and help spread the message to reduce single-use plastics and protect the waters we all enjoy.

Clean oceans. Healthy communities. One Nation. One shared responsibility. πŸ’™

Next Tuesday is the beginning of the Season of Creation. Known as the Feast of Creation, it will also mark the launch of the 28/29-day Paddle for Hope Stand Up Paddle Against Single Use Plastics.
Thank you to all the partners and supporters who have helped us prepare for this challenge.
If you are up early on Tuesday come and support us at the launch. Or join us at Muaivuso, the end of our first leg and our first community engagement....and if you have time for it you're welcome to paddle with us.

Growing sailing in Fiji πŸ©΅πŸ‡«πŸ‡―

It was wonderful to host the World Sailing Level 1 Club Race Officer Program alongside our 2026 Fiji Sailing Nationals, an opportunity to improve and upskill our race management, knowledge and experience across sailing communities around the country.

A huge vinaka vakalevu to World Sailing and instructor Becky Ashburn for bringing the course to Fiji and sharing so much knowledge with us. It was a joy to attend, learn together and take another step forward for sailing in Fiji.

DAY 1 ACTION AT THE NATIONALS!
Check out our young Optimist sailors sharing their thoughts before a tough, thrilling Day 1 on the water!
These brave kids took on the cold temperatures and strong winds head-on. For many of them, today wasn't just their very first National Championshipβ€”it was also their first time racing in high winds and navigating a massive fleet.
With 53 sailors across 5 classes, this is officially our BIGGEST Nationals to date! We are so proud of the pure energy, grit, and determination these youth sailors brought to the course today.

Vinaka to our hosts at Royal Suva Yacht Club for an incredible start. From Savusavu last year to Suva today and Vuda Sailing Club next year, Fiji’s youth sailing community is growing stronger by the day.

🐚 And so it starts!

Savusavu Junior Sailors are on the move - a record 28 athletes, supported by 16+ volunteers and chaperones, making their way across the islands to Suva for the 2026 Fiji Sailing Nationals.

This is no small operation. 20+ boats, a rescue tender, sailors, families and gear travelling by sea, day and night, to give these young people the chance to race at Nationals and perhaps one day, carry Fiji and the Pacific onto the world stage πŸŒΊπŸ‡«πŸ‡―

There is something beautifully familiar about this journey. Our islands have always been connected by the ocean. Long before us, our ancestors travelled these same waters, navigating across our ocean with courage, knowledge and purpose.

Today, another generation takes to the sea … supported by their village, their families and their community, discovering just how far sailing might take them.

This is what it’s all about: community, adventure, opportunity and possibility.

Vinaka vakalevu, Savusavu. What an incredible effort πŸ™ŒπŸŒŠβ›΅οΈ

Loloma yani to everyone making the journey. Sail safe we look forward to welcoming you all to Suva soon πŸ’«

Steer the Course Fiji 2026!

We're so proud to see Fiji Yachting featured by World Sailing following our very first Steering the Course festival.

Seeing so many women and girls come together to give sailing a go, learn new skills, build confidence and simply enjoy being out on the water was something really special. It's a wonderful step towards growing our sport and creating more opportunities for women and girls across Fiji.

A huge vinaka vakalevu to everyone who made the event possible – our volunteers, participants, Vuda Sailing Club and partners. Your enthusiasm, encouragement and support are helping build a brighter future for sailing in Fiji.

This is just the beginning, and we can't wait to welcome even more people onto the water and continue growing the sailing community together.

Good luck Vili!

Fiji Yachting is proud to see Vili Ratulu representing Fiji this week at the San Pedro Olympic Classes Regatta in Los Angeles, one of the first major international regattas to be sailed on the waters that will host the LA 2028 Olympic Games. Racing in the ILCA classes got underway on 21 July and continues through 24 July, with nearly 200 sailors from 34 nations competing.

This regatta is an important milestone on the road to LA 2028, giving sailors the opportunity to test themselves in the challenging conditions of the future Olympic venue while racing against many of the world’s best.

We’re incredibly proud to see Vili continuing his international campaign and gaining valuable experience at the highest level.

From everyone at Fiji Yachting, we wish you fair winds, fast sailing and every success on the water.

Go Vili! Go Fiji! πŸ‡«πŸ‡―β›΅
