Today, September 30th the feast of Saint Jerome (the Italian priest hailed to have translated most of the Bible into Latin from Greek manuscripts), also marks an annual appreciation to all translators around the world and to their much needed work to ensure that messages, documents, files, speeches and all other written and verbal communications transcend across borders with equal understanding in a local language.

It is a day we can rightly celebrate to pause and think of how vital translators are in our world; past, present and future.

Thanks to the work of translators for example we are better able to understand our fellow human beings across the globe, and in our present information-rich world there has never been a better time now to increase such understanding and break down communication barriers.

So here’s to you translators, keep up your great work of rendering comprehending international communication possible in whatever language. 🙏
