Pilates—originally called Contrology—was created by Joseph Pilates, a man with a vision to build strength, resilience, and balance of body and mind.
Far from being “just for women,” Contrology was designed as a complete training method for men and women alike.
In fact, Joseph himself was a boxer, gymnast, and self-defense trainer who worked with soldiers, athletes, and dancers.
Today, Pilates continues to be an essential part of many men’s training programs—from professional athletes and actors to everyday movers—because it develops core strength, flexibility, control, and precision like no other discipline.
