Come to the South of France they said, enjoy the sunshine on the French Riviera! … 💨🌊🌧️
Nice that Cannes seems to be a touch warmer than Hyeres was last week 🥶😂

A big week in Heyres for the French Olympic Week 💨⛵️ Very hot competition in the Olympic Qualified Nations fleet 🔥 Great to race next to the best in the World and see the next level, albeit tough to finish towards the back of the fleet. Looking forward to the Europeans in Cannes where we head next week 🇫🇷

Thanks to our support team back home 🙌

Day 1 of our second World Cup for the season kicked off today. We are competing in Hyeres, France. The format for this event see’s us competing within the regatta for the Olympic qualified nations rather than the last chance regatta for nations that haven’t yet qualified for the games. As such this provides us with a unique opportunity to race with the best for the whole week. An unsteady forecast which said no more than 10 knots for today proved to be dramatically wrong with our course receiving conditions for solid windy weather sailing. We were captured on a two sail reach today pre kite hoist thanks to energy | | .com.au

The World Cup Series kicked off this week in Mallorca, Spain with the Princesa Sofia Trophy. It was an awesome week of racing with every condition imaginable; from the first day of 25 knots and 3m waves, to a few races under 5 knots. Hitting the start line for our first International regatta together was exciting and immediately put our skills to the test! We were pleased with our ability to get off the start line and give ourselves a lot of opportunity in the races, often seeing ourselves in the top half of the fleet at various times, but small mistakes quickly push you back in the dense olympic class fleet..! The generous support of Lextech allowed us to maximize the opportunity to learn from the racing by getting Greek 470 champion; Andreas; to coach us for the regatta. We have a huge list of learnings and key points to improve on, and are super excited to have two more regattas to keep working on these things. Next up we head to France for the second World Cup, the French Olympic Week.

Great fun to jump in a Tasar over the long weekend and race against a hot fleet of 18 boats in the state championship at . Took us a little while to learn how to make the Tasar go fast… but plenty of fun and some quality racing practice before we head to Europe next week!
