Over the winter month’s, Algue spent 3 weeks in the shipyard, getting her usual annual make over.
This year we continued with some structural work, sistering some frames in the forepeak, head and doghouse. We also replaced the 4 under waterline through-hull fittings, with new teak backing plates installed.
The remaining bits of ship-side lining were removed, with the exposed hull timbers treated and painted.
Add in repainting the topsides, bilges and antifouling, as well as repairing the aft capping rail, it made for a very productive few weeks!

Now bring on the sunshine and some Easter sailing...!

The 2021 Sailing Season has begun here in Cannes with some lovely weather over Easter...
We will be running our “local resident’s special” again this year until the end of May, with the added bonus of being one of the first to visit the recently installed Underwater Eco Museum; a series of sculptures off the south coast of Île de Sainte-Marguerite by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor.

After 3 weeks of hard grafting, ALGUE went back into the water today looking as good as new...
This year we continued making the boat stronger, by sistering 12 frames around midships on the starboard side, as well as making her glow again with approximately 40L of various paints used inside and out. Doghouse soles were replaced, teak king plank in cockpit has been replaced and we made a step to complete the cabin sole up forward!
A busy few weeks...
Already looking forward to the Sailing Season 2021, not too long to wait now...
