Adventure At Altitude - Chamonix

Ok i have lost complete faith in the Snow Gods....

We ventured up the aiguille du midi with some clients on Tuesday to ski down Vallee Blanche again. Although we have had no new snow in Chamonix for some time, there was still some good snow up there and it was still a great day out! Both ropes are installed at the top now which makes the first part of the adventure a lot more comfortable... Lets pray to the snow gods again! It kind of worked last time....

If you get the chance to go up the Aiguille du Midi Lift the views will be spectacular! I hear the snow up there is not too bad for Vallee Blanche...

So the snow conditions aren't great in most parts of Chamonix. Brevent and Flegere still offer good piste and some off piste in the mornings, and Grands Montets is fairly consistent throughout. Despite the snow Chamonix has offered some great views with the spring skiing weather recently. Forecast looks promising next week with 30+ cm on its way!

Finally Chamonix received some snow! The back sides of Le Tour currently offer some great runs with some great snow. No queues for the lifts and not so many people compared to Grands Montets....

Vallee Blanche – It is the heart of the Mont Blanc Massif and again was an incredible experience. Although there wasn’t enough snow to ski all 20 km the conditions were amazing in places and the views were breath taking. You could not experience this anywhere else! If the conditions are not perfect be ready to ski hard and listen to everything your guide says. Again a huge thanks to our incredible guide rick…

Sunday 2nd of January - one of our guides Rick had taken us ski touring in Italy. Despite some of our injuries and the lack of snow in parts of the alps, for me it was still an incredible experience. The snow was still ok, the weather was perfect and the views from the top were something i had never experienced. Thanks again Rick for the perfect adventure!
