While Christmas in Christianity is often promoted as a season of love and altruism, my observations on Facebook reveal a stark contrast—self-centred posts dominate the platform, characterized by a recurrent theme of 'I do,' 'I can,' thinly veiled under the guise of 'I do this for you.'

The contradiction raises the question: What is the essence of this celebration?

Perplexed and introspective, I find myself grappling with the discrepancy between the proclaimed spirit of Christmas and the self-centric narratives prevailing online. The disconnection between the ideals and the reality prompts introspection, leaving me uncertain about the true meaning of the season.

In an attempt to reconcile these conflicting perspectives,

I decide to step away from the virtual world and engage in a tangible act of kindness.

Fuelled by a desire to embody the genuine spirit of Christmas,

I make my way to feed some children.

This action,

I hope,

will serve as a more authentic expression of the holiday's essence, transcending the self-focused narratives that seem to dominate the digital landscape.
