The cource for our next Figaro race which starts tomorrow. The 250 mile Basse Normandy looks like it could get windy with 30 knot gusts forecast for the beat past Cherbourg!

Tha calm before the storm. Lots of wind expected for the weekends race to Plymouth and back, looks like a lot of reaching in up to 35/40 knots should take around 24 very wet hours!

Just woken up after a 12 hour sleep! It was a tough race, finishing 15th in final results and 4th rookie, just missing out on the podium this time. We had gusts of 30 knots with the spinnaker up on the way to the island Yeu at the southern end of the course, surfing at 16 knots in the dark. Trying to decide how close to get to this rocky island before dropping the kite!

In the final weather briefing looks like a quick race under 2 days to cover the 320 miles, the boats are ready to go, thanks to team preparateurs Simon and Antoin. Follow at

SOLO CONCARNEAU 2012

Another windy weekend coaching the Solent Mini group we managed to get in loads of downwind practice thanks to the tides. In the pic Luke and Robin are just about to hit the tugs wake, they did get wet!

First figaro race was intense no sleep.Happy with 17th of 29 in a tough fleet and 2nd bizuth (newbie). Beat 18th by 2 seconds and 19th by 3!
