Dear Beautiful Online Community,
I am Lily Rainbow, a colourful name for which I thank my parents. Echoing my name, I have always loved exploring life through the different nuances of my personality. 10 years ago, this led me to Bangkok and the start of my yoga adventure. It was supposed to be fun. But oh mama, the fun didn’t kick in immediately… “What am I doing here? I’ll never manage! My whole body, muscles and organs are burning up!” I thought. Thankfully, along came feelings of relief too. Then, the discovery of new muscles and breathing sensations…Finally, I’d found a space where I could take the time to breath.
I have been a lawyer in the Humanitarian sector for almost 6 years, deployed in different missions for NGOs, European agencies and UNHCR. Why am I so passionate about this career? Because it’s about empowering people. And this is also the reason why, over time, I fell in love with Yoga. Yoga is also a tool for empowerment. For me, it is about being confident, balanced, challenged, grounded in the present. It’s also about many more aspects that I am still discovering.
After practicing assiduously for years, last year I finally felt ready to undertake my training as a Yoga Teacher. I’m building a Yoga project that I wish to launch online. To contribute my support to the coronavirus context and as a way of connecting together, I am opening up these virtual classes for free.
Teaching online, I’ve recently enjoyed assisting each individual in their alignments. Offering classes to all levels, I’ve suggested different positions for different needs. My motto is “find your personal limit, ease out of it just a little and there you’ll be in your comfort zone”.
Some of you have already been joining me in the practice from the very beginning of my project. Some of you are joining along the way. I’ve been feeling such strong support from you all and it is even becoming a shared project. I’m loving it.
This is only the beginning of the journey and I truly wish to share with you many further steps. If you’re interested in getting further involved in the process, it would be lovely to share with you about the creation of my Logo, the construction of my website, maybe exchanging competencies and possibly yoga practices…
There’s no pressure to do this of course. It’s just about coming together over a project common to humanity because this is also the meaning of yoga. Yoga is about engaging, getting involved, participating and connecting…
It’s an active process and that is why I wish to continue sharing my project with you. Supporting others during the coronavirus context by connecting together through virtual yoga is currently free. Later, I will kindly ask for donations to support my new Yoga project. Money shouldn’t be an obstacle though, especially during this confinement period. So, if ever you feel that this is not your financial priority but you still want to join, please do.
I am really looking forward meeting you!
Lily Rainbow
