Last Saturday, the 27th Annual Congress of CEP
was successfully held in Luxembourg.

During the congress, several important topics were discussed. Among others, the 2025 annual reports of the President, Secretary General,and Treasurer were approved, as well as the planned budget for 2027.

The Congress also received detailed information on CEP licence/membership transfers, the membership numbers of national federations, and CEP’s plans for this and the upcoming years.

During the elections, the Congress placed its trust in Joan Andersen (Denmark),
Jana Lazarova (Slovakia), Ralf Kraehmer (Austria), Jean-Luc Melleker (Belgium),
and Dr. Barnabas Novak (Hungary).
Following the departure of Lasse Franck (Sweden), the CEP Board of Directors appointed Roland Armand as a board member.

The new CEP Executive Board is composed as follows:

- Dr. Barnabas Novak – President
- Jean-Luc Melleker – Vice President
- Ralf Kraehmer – Vice President
- Michael Regelin – Secretary General
- Damien Fellay – Treasurer

After the elections, the congress reviewed the key details of this year’s
European Championships.

We are also pleased to announce that we will return to Greece next year,
as the Hellenic Petanque Federation will host both
the Veterans’ and Men’s European Championships in 2027.

On behalf of CEP, we thank everyone for their active participation,and we
look forward to seeing you in Lorca at the first European Championship of this year.

Reunion /meeting COMEX FIPJP

La réunion ordinaire du Comité exécutif du FIPJP s'est tenue à Luxembourg le week-end dernier, du 10 au 12 avril 2026. Pour la première fois dans la nouvelle composition issue des élections de l'année dernière. La réunion été accueillie par le nouveau président de la FIPJP, Gérard Schneider. Outre les membres du COMEX, la réunion s'est déroulée en présence des présidents des confédérations d'Afrique, d'Europe, d'Amérique et de représentants d'Asie. Le président de la Confédération d'Océanie était présent par visioconférence.
Le président de la WPBF, Claude Azema, et le trésorier sortant, Michel Signaire, étaient également présents à la réunion.
Était également présent le président de la Fédération thaïlandaise des sports de boules, accompagné de Madame vice-présidente de l'université de Khon Kaen (Thaïlande), qui accueillera les prochains championnats du monde masculins à la fin du mois de novembre de cette année.
Durant ces 3 jours, de nombreuses discussions ont eu lieu sur de nombreux sujets concernant l'avenir des tournois mondiaux, les règles et le fonctionnement de la FIPJP dans son ensemble. Les textes officiels vont maintenant être finalisés et nous les présenterons à tous au fur et à mesure.

The regular meeting of the FIPJP Executive Committee was held in Luxembourg last weekend, from 10 to 12 April 2026. This was the first meeting of the new committee following last year’s elections. The meeting was hosted by the new FIPJP President, Gérard Schneider. In addition to the members of the Executive Committee, the meeting was attended by the presidents of the African, European and American confederations, as well as representatives from Asia. The president of the Oceania Confederation attended via videoconference.
The president of the WPBF, Claude Azema, and the outgoing treasurer, Michel Signaire, were also present at the meeting.
Also present was the President of the Thai Federation of Boules Sports, accompanied by the Vice-President of Khon Kaen University (Thailand), which will host the next Men’s World Championships at the end of November this year.
Over the course of these three days, numerous discussions took place on a wide range of topics concerning the future of world tournaments, the rules and the functioning of the FIPJP as a whole. The official documents will now be finalised and we will present them to everyone as they become available.

Ce n'est pas facile pour nous d'écrire ces lignes. La FIPJP s'associe aux sincères condoléances adressées à tous les proches qui ont perdu il y a quelques jours deux merveilleuses personnes, Josefa Sosa et Ana Martín.
Lors d'un tragique accident ferroviaire dans le sud de l'Espagne, nous avons perdu nos amies et collaboratrices bénévoles, que nous rencontrions chaque jour lors du dernier championnat du monde à Isla Cristina.
En ces moments difficiles, nous sommes particulièrement aux côtés de notre ami Carlos Martin Palma - père et mari des victimes..Il aura désormais besoin de nous tous pour surmonter cette tragique situation. Nous sommes tous avec toi, mon ami.
Toutes nos condoléances à Carlos, sa famille, les membres du Club d´Isla Cristina, à nos amis de la FEP et à l´ensemble du monde de la pétanque en Espagne.

🇬🇧 Congratulations to the medalists of the 2025 SEA GAMES. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the sporting and social success of the pétanque tournaments organised as part of these games. To the players, volunteers, officials from the Thai Federation and the Asian Confederation, referees and all other supporters. Despite the unfavourable circumstances, we managed to organise an exceptional event. We look forward to the next events on the Asian continent. La FFPJP a eu l'immense tristesse d'apprendre la disparition de Jacques THERON, notamment vice-président de la Fédération de 1985 à 2013 et arbitre international formateur de plusieurs générations d'arbitres.
