Estonian sailors Kätlin Tammiste and Anna Maria Sepp on their way to Tokyo Olympics 2020! We are active and ambitious young ladies, whose passion is sailing.

As a very multifaced and extreme sport, sailing offers us speed, adrenaline fighting with forces of nature. We started sailing in 2005 and since then we have dedicated most of our time to developing in this sport. Strong friendship and great understanding help to keep our mind positive and motivated even in the hardest and the most intense trainings. Our main goal is to represent Estonia succesfully at Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

We are sad to announce that we will not continue our campaign in 49erFX towards Tokyo 2020!

Seven years ago, in 2011 we teamed up and started sailing in RS Feva, both secretly dreaming about successful sailing career and Olympics. These dreams kept us highly motivated and led us from one youth boat class to another when finally in 2013 we could start sailing in women Olympic two-person dinghy - 49erFX. Those last five years have been an unforgettable journey, Rio Olympics definitely being the highlight of that time. Now in the middle of the campaign towards Tokyo 2020 we have reached the point where Anna Maria feels that we as a team are no longer able to achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves, so we decided not to continue the current sailing campaign in 49erFX class. This means that our time as one team has come to an end. Although as we both love sailing, we will stay connected to it in one or another way.

There are very many people we would like to thank for that amazing journey. First of all, our families, who have helped and supported us in all possible ways. Then our sailing coaches, most recent of them Lenart Kivistik, who has put a lot of effort into our campaign and handed on the art and knowledge of sailing a 49er. Huge thanks goes also to Tõnis Haavel, who made the journey possible in the first place, our physical preparation coach Aivar Kajakas, sports doctor Virve vask, physiotherapist Kristi Singi and sport psychologist Snezana Stoljarova.

Notable contribution was also made by Eesti Jahtklubide Liit, Eesti Olümpiakomitee, Viimsi SPA spordiklubi, Pirita TOP, Viimsi vald, Bliz - Protective Sports Gear, Squeezy Sports Nutrition Estonia

And last but not least, we would like to thank YOU, our friends and fans for all the encouraging words and good wishes! You really are the best! 😍

Junior U23 Worlds have come to an end! We finished 13th overall and 8th in FX girls! ⛵

It was quite tough and challenging regatta as most of the races were held in really strong Mistral winds and some were even cancelled because of it. We had quite decent start to the competition, but faced an unexpected equipment breakage on second day which cost us one race and did some technical mistakes in two races which resulted in capsizes. At least now we know where to put our main focus in further strong wind trainings ;)

U23 Worlds was our last international regatta in 2018 season. Now we'll do some weeks of training in Tallinn and one more regatta in Estonian Championship Series before the final end of the sailing season.

Today starts racing for U23 World Championship title! 🏆
This is our last year as juniors so we'll give our best to make it a memorable event! There are almost 40 FX's in the start and we'll sail in one fleet until the end of the regatta. Sailing conditions look perfect, so let's get the racing started! 😎

Intense week of racing at Worlds is now behind! ⛵ :)

During the week we had very different weather conditions - light and strong winds, stable and very shifty winds, currents. This made it a really good regatta for finding out the best sailors of the world! We had a rather modest start to the competition and despite hard work couldn't sail frontward in the fleet. Therefore after qualifications we continued the regatta in silver fleet. Still, wanting to prove ourselves that we are capable of more, kept fighting. This resulted in a really good final day when we scored 1st and 3rd in silver fleet races. We are happy to end the competition with these emotions! :) 💪Altogether we finished the Worlds with 41th place.

Now some days off and then it's time to do last preparations for a new reatta - U23 Worlds - starting at the end of August in Marseille, France!

Two weeks at home are now over and we have started our road trip towards Arhus, Denmark for World Championship 2018! 🏆 🇩🇰️

During our stay in Tallinn we had some physical training at Viimsi SPA spordiklubi and sailing sessions on water, which ended with a great weekend regatta in Tallinn with two 49ers and two FXs in start. The weather was just perfect - really warm and stronger shore breeze, which is also similar to conditions in Århus. On that reason we had our main focus on strategy and feel that we can be satisfied with our performance!

Now we are excited and ready to start racing at Worlds! ;)

Stay tuned!

Europeans 2018 have come to an end! ⛵

During qualification races dominated light winds 2-5 m/s and choppy conditions, which have been one of the hardest for us to find good boat speed. Although we worked hard on that and even made some improvements, we finished most of the qualification races in second half of the fleet and therefore continued the finals in Silver fleet. In final series we got some more breeze and were happy to make it to the top of the fleet more often. Altogether we finished the Europeans 26th and 4th in U23 division :)

Now we are heading back home to compete in Estonian Championship Series and prepare for the Worlds.

Stay tuned!

It's time for European Championship 2018! 💥

Gdynia has welcomed us with great athmosphere - sunny weather and a lot of sailors from different boat classes. We have had time to check the local conditions and do some racing with other FX's. Altogether there are 47 entries in the FX class, so it's going to be suspense week of sailing! Racing starts today, so let's get it started! ;)

Last week we had a training camp in Arhus, Denmark. As there will be World Championship 2018 in August, it was good to learn more about the competition venue and local conditions. Fortunately, there were also many other FX’s training there at that time so we could do intense racing with almost 15 boats in a start. It was definitely a really effective camp for us, especially we improved in tactics and strategy. Now we are back at home for two weeks to prepare for the Europeans in the beginning of July ;)

Palma regatta 2018 has come to an end, for us unfortunately a bit earlier than it should have!
During one strong wind race we had a bad manouver in upwind mark and capsized so badly that Anna Maria's knee got hurt quite seriously (accidentally our coach happened to film it - video below). Although we tried to continue racing the following day, it soon got clear that the pain is getting much worse, so we decided to stop competing and put our focus on recovery. 🤕
All in all we managed to sail 11 races out of 15, so we still had a chance to test our skills in a bigger fleet. We have to admit that the long break from sailing had done its job, but we really hope that spring arrives soon in Estonia so we could officially start our sailing season there as well! :)

Now back to home!

Palm(a) again! 🏝☀️

This time for Trofeo Princesa Sofia regatta 2018! There are 54 entries in the 49er FX class, so it's going to be a great week of sailing in a bigger fleet! Registration ✔️ last preparations ✔️ so now we are ready to start racing tomorrow!

This year we have quite many Estonians competing here in different Olympic classes, so fingers crossed for all of them!
