Training, traveling, adventuring, and never slowing down 🏍️ Martin Camp, age 59, was the son of a real Man of Africa. His father, a Kwa-Zulu Natal Parks Ranger, nurtured wildlife and a love for the outdoors, which shaped Martin’s lifelong passion for adventure. From racing off-road enduro bikes by age 16 to completing Comrades Marathons by 19, Martin embraced extreme sports early. After serving two combat tours during South Africa’s mandatory military service, earning two Pro Patria medals and completing parachute jumps, he moved to the UK for nine years. There, he competed in British and World Enduro series, claiming several wins, and ranked in the top five at the iconic Weston Beach Race. His global journey includes visiting over 54 countries and living in Saudi Arabia for a decade, where he honed his desert racing skills, including two UAE Desert Challenges and wins in the quad category. Despite missing out on the 2006 Dakar Rally due to funding, he remained focused and driven. Now, nearly two decades later and with three racing sons of his own, Martin is ready to chase his ultimate dream, competing in the 2026 Dakar Rally. With proven experience, elite fitness, and unmatched desert knowledge, he’s determined to prove that age is no limit. Recently completing the brutal Cape Epic MTB race and a Baja 1000 category win, Martin continues to inspire and coach the next generation of riders. Finishing Dakar would crown his 43-year racing career. Finishing the 2026 Dakar will truly be the grand finale to his 43-year motorcycle racing career. He truly is a believer in the Dakar motto ...
