• 🌎 Happy Earth Day, Yogis 🌍 •
🌻 The practice of yoga is founded in the belief that we are directly connected to nature.
🧘🏽♀️ The word “yoga” in Sanskrit actually means union, specially a union with nature!
☀️ I hope you all took some time to connect with nature today, mentally or physically, through your practice or through some introspection.
🙏🏽 Earth day might only last 24 hours, but let’s try to connect with nature every day and thank the planet through our actions!
🌳 Join us this Spring and Summer to connect with nature in our outdoor classes on the Île de Nantes and other parks in town.

~ Take care of your ✨hamstrings✨~
☀️ I don’t know about you yogis, but the recent good weather has put me in a constant running/walking mood!
🏃🏽♀️Both of these activities are great for us, but also take a toll on our bodies, especially the legs!
🦵The impact of running and walking makes our muscles tense up and tighten, making it easier to injure them!
💭So, remember to lightly loosen the quads and hamstrings before heading out with some simple forward folds & gentle knee bends.
🙆🏽♀️ Then get a deeper stretch post-run/walk with some deep, low lunges, allowing your hips to sink down and forward and then pushing back into a supported half split!
🙏🏽 And take an extra long savasana to thank your legs for allowing you to move and bend under the sun!

This month, try to be your biggest fan in whatever you’re doing at least one time per day.
✍🏾 Write it down…
💭 Or just make a mental note!
🙏🏽 Thank yourself at the end of each day simply for being alive.
🧘🏽♀️ Make time for yourself, even if it’s for a 10-minutes savasana at the end of the day.
🌳 Because life and nature are ~yoga~.

Or, as I like to call it : 🐸frog pose🐸
⚖️ A squatting, hip opening asana that improves blood circulation in the pelvic area and improved balance.
*After a gentle warm up of the hips*
🐾 Start in a standing position, separating the legs a bit wider than the hips and point the toes outward.
🧱Depending on your flexibility and mobility, use a towel, pillow or block under the heels for support.
🙆🏽♀️ Slowly bend the knees, touching the fingertips on the groups in front of you and straighten the spine, pulling the crown of the head up towards the sky.
💪With the hands in prayer and belly pulled towards the spine, push the knees outward with the elbows while simultaneously pushing the elbows inward with the knees to create a balance.
✨ I recommend practicing MALASANA every morning to start the day and in the evening before bed to help sleep better.

✨Prioritize Your Happiness ✨
🙏🏽 Until you start prioritizing your own happiness, you will not be able to spread your inner light to those around you.
☀️Your energy radiates from the inside out! Take care of your body, mind and soul so you can shine positive light on the people you care for.
😰 Stop living to appease capitalist ideals and the hustle culture we live in today.
☮️ Instead, write down 3 things you love to do each morning and strive to accomplish THOSE goals, for yourself!
🤷🏽♀️ You will never be able to please everyone. You are the bad guy in someone else’s story.
🤗 Instead of trying to change yourself to adapt to other’s expectations, set healthy boundaries and follow them proudly. Be your most authentic self.
🕊 Allow yourself to become light and easy within your soul by moving your body and taking time to be thankful that you are alive.
🌎 Live each day as if it’s your first and last day on this Earth to choose yourself and your happiness.
