There's a particular kind of tired that comes from working against your natural design.
I know that tired well. 😮💨
I adopted the traditional business model that many stylists use when they start out.
I spent those early years churning out as many colour and style consults as I could.
I worked long hours to get the clients and to be visible.
And I was good at it. Genuinely good.
The constant striving worked, right up until it didn't.
I hit burnout more than once before I understood what was actually happening.
I wasn't lazy and I wasn't failing.
I was running a business model that was becoming increasingly unsustainable with family and the stage of life I was at.
And the cost was real.
Always one eye on business, never being able to just relax and enjoy life.
The problem was, I didn't have an alternate model.
Every other stylist out there was doing the same as me - Trying to get any client they could for a colour or style and then moving onto the next client.
When I moved to France, I thought about restarting my styling business but to be honest I felt I didn't have the stamina for the traditional way of doing business - Two small boys who needed me and a new country to adjust to put paid to that.
Luckily I can accross a clever business coach who was teaching a very different model - High ticket, low volume.
I learnt quickly and within 2 years I was working fully online with 6 figure income.
And the brilliant news, is that I still got to use all the skills of a traditionally trained stylist but I got to work at greater depth and my clients had a bigger transformation.
And I got to slow down and actually enjoy my work more!
I'm not saying the volume business model is wrong for everyone.
If you thrive on constant doing and have huge energy, it may be the perfect model for you.
But for some of you, that model is pushing you toward burnout, or worse, encouraging you to give up altogether.
If you've ever looked at another stylist's relentless output and felt both admiration and a quiet exhaustion, that exhaustion is worth taking note of.
It does not mean you're lazy or under-driven.
It might simply mean your business model doesn't fit who you actually are or the stage of life you're at.
The 6 Figure Mentorship is where we do this work properly.
Niche clarity, a high ticket offer, a business model that uses your actual strengths instead of asking you to override your own nervous system to keep up.
