Circuito Internazionale Napoli in Italy, Unveils Major Track and Paddock Upgrade for 2027
Major redevelopment of the circuit’s final sector and paddock infrastructure will pave the way for renewed FIA Grade 1 homologation
NAPLES, ITALY — Circuito Internazionale Napoli is set to embark on a major redevelopment programme ahead of the 2027 season, with substantial investment planned for both the track layout and the circuit’s paddock and technical infrastructure.
Karting remains at the foot of Vesuvius-based facility’s identity and sporting vocation, complemented by the venue’s highly active motor racing circuit. The latest investment programme further strengthens the facility’s commitment to creating a modern, high-level venue capable of meeting the demands of an increasingly competitive international motorsport environment.
At the centre of the project is a significant redesign and extension of the karting circuit, which will reach the maximum length and width permitted under the FIA regulations. The objective is to secure renewed FIA Grade 1 homologation, in accordance with the requirements set out in Appendix 13 of the FIA regulations.
A completely new final sector
The most significant changes will be concentrated in Sector 3, the final section of the circuit leading onto the start/finish straight.
The existing configuration features a sequence of relatively tight-radius corners before the long straight. In the new layout, this sequence will be substantially reworked and replaced by a new combination of corners designed to provide a fundamentally different driving experience.
The redevelopment will introduce a new acceleration section leading into a direction-changing corner, followed by a further fast section and a more pronounced turn back towards the main circuit. The sequence will then merge into the long start/finish straight.
Rather than simply adding length to the existing circuit, the project represents a complete redesign of the final sequence of corners. The new geometry will combine a tighter corner with a significantly more open turn before introducing a further succession of tighter corners.
The result will be a more varied and technically demanding final sector, creating new challenges for drivers while giving the circuit a distinctive new character.
Investment extends beyond the track
The redevelopment will not be limited to the circuit itself. Significant investment will also be made in the paddock and adjacent technical areas, with the aim of upgrading the venue’s infrastructure alongside the new track configuration.
In parallel with the renewed FIA Grade 1 Track Requirements homologation, Circuito Internazionale Napoli will confirm and further enhance its Grade A Infrastructure Requirements certification in line with FIA standards.
The combined programme represents a major step in the circuit’s medium-term development strategy, positioning Circuito Internazionale Napoli to compete at an increasingly high level within the international karting and motorsport landscape.
Looking towards 2027 and beyond
The project reflects a clear long-term vision for Circuito Internazionale Napoli: to continue investing in the quality of its sporting facilities and infrastructure while strengthening its position within an increasingly competitive global circuit environment.
With international competition between venues becoming ever more intense, the redevelopment is designed to ensure that Circuito Internazionale Napoli remains at the forefront of the sport and is equipped to meet the expectations of drivers, teams, organisers and international championships.
Construction work is scheduled to begin in February 2027.
