When you travel with others, you are constantly compromising. You eat when they are hungry, look at what they want to see, and match their energy levels.

The Ultimate Freedom is a solo date removes the noise. If you want to spend three hours staring at one painting in a museum, you can. If you want to skip the famous landmark to read a book by the river, there is no one there to tell you you’re doing it wrong.

When you are alone in a new city, your senses sharpen. You notice the architecture, the smell of the local pastries, and the rhythm of the language around you. You aren’t distracted by conversation and you are FULLY there.

Paradoxically, being alone makes you more approachable. Locals and fellow travelers are much more likely to strike up a conversation with a solo woman reading a book at a bar than a group of people locked in their own world.

Here are NomadHer teams favorite 18 solo date ideas with your own self when you go on solo traveling. What’s other ideas that you wish to share with our community?

Dear Me,

This is your Future Me and I wanted to write a message to you. You might be on the plane right now. You might wonder what is the next. I just wanted to let you know that every time we pack a bag, we aren’t just choosing a spot on a map.

When you hand over your boarding pass today, remember you are handing over your old limits, too. You are officially clearing yourself for takeoff into a bigger, bolder existence.

I know, more than anyone else that you spent so long wondering if you were strong enough to leave the familiar behind, but as a woman claiming her own destiny, you’re about to show the world just how far your wings can take you

Look around the departure gate and look everyone is going somewhere, but you are specifically flying toward yourself and the place where you truly belong.

There might be some turbulence. I know. But Trust the turbulence and trust the timing. I am already waiting you in the destination you’ve been praying for, waiting to welcome you home.

You didn’t just buy a plane ticket but you invested in your own freedom, your own growth, and a future where you never have to ask permission to be powerful.

The hardest part was deciding to go, and you already did that so sit back, watch the earth shrink beneath you, and enjoy the beautiful journey to where you belong.

We finally made it to the life we always dreamed of, and it all started because you had the courage to pack that bag and board this exact flight.

So Dear Me, welcome on board.
With love, from your Future Me.

Here are some of the advice as a solo founder to grow the community of over 400,000 women from the very scratch 💕

1. Never Wait for Anyone and Just Start
Many aspiring entrepreneurs claim they haven’t launched because they can’t find the perfect partner or co-founder. While finding the right co-founder is a wonderful stroke of luck, you cannot let the lack of one stall your vision. If you don’t have a partner, start anyway. There will always be a hundred excuses to walk away, but you only need one single reason to keep pressing forward.

2. Bring in Talent Flexibly
Think of your startup like an agile sports league where performance is constantly measured. When you are building a community alone, you don’t need a massive full-time team right away, but you do need to ask for help. Bring in external talents flexibly—whether for design, marketing, or tech. Lean on freelancers, advisors, and fractional help wherever possible to fill your gaps.

3. Start Niche, Start Small, Then Expand
When NomadHer first began, our very first event was hosted at the Cité Internationale Universitaire while I was still a student. We didn’t try to target the whole world right away; we specifically invited female students living right there in the residential complex who were hesitating to take their first-ever solo trip. Focus on a micro-community first, nail the value proposition, and only then scale outward.

4. Separate Your Self-Worth from the Community’s Success
As an impact builder, creator, or founder, it is incredibly difficult to draw a boundary between your business and your personal life. However, you must remember that your community’s success or failure does not define your identity or your personal worth. Detach your ego from the daily metrics so you can look at what your audience truly needs with objective clarity.

5. Believe in the Power of Showing Up, Despite All the Reasons You ”Can‘t“

✨Calling all ambitious & creative women creators from the world ✨

Join She Can Create Anywhere: Jeju Global Workation for Women Creators, a 5-night, 6-day women-first workation in Jeju for a limited cohort of 10 global women who want to create, connect, and recharge by the sea.

Hosted by NomadHer, a community of women who work online, build our own paths, and cheer each other on, this special program invites solo female digital nomads, remote workers, creators, and solopreneurs to spend seven slow, salt-breezy days in Hamdeok—coworking at a beachfront global workation space, staying just steps from the beach, and drawing inspiration from Jeju’s iconic women and sea culture.

Throughout the week, participants will explore Jeju’s women-led local ecosystem through meaningful experiences, including Haenyeo diving and beach plogging with the NomadHer community, while also joining a beginner-friendly vibe coding workshop and build sprint using AI tools to create their own simple service or digital prototype.

This is your invitation to step away from the city, build in community, and discover what becomes possible when women gather by the sea 🌊

🙏 Sponsored by the .en Jeju City and .or.kr Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, we support global women digital nomads in living and creating anywhere.
