It’s a national holiday in Japan, so now’s the perfect time to look back at ON-YO-NE’s unique roots! 🇯🇵
The story began back in 1954 while Yoneichi Onda, ON-YO-NE’s founder, was working as a salesman for his parents' fabric store. Tired of getting soaked during his deliveries, he saw an opportunity when the first nylon raincoats hit the market. He had a true breakthrough, going on to develop a fabric that wasn't just waterproof, but could also retain heat.
In 1968, he officially founded Yoneshichi Shoten Co. LTD as a tribute to his parents’ shop and his father’s name. Over the years, that title was shortened to the name we know today: ON-YO-NE!

ON-YO-NE ne pouvait passer sous silence la fête nationale de son pays d'origine, soit le Japon! 🇯🇵
En 1954, le fondateur de la marque, Yoneichi Onda, travaillait comme vendeur dans le magasin de draperie de ses parents. Lors de ses livraisons chez les clients, son manteau prenait régulièrement l'eau. Avec l'arrivée du premier imperméable en nylon, Yoneichi a eu un éclair de génie: il allait développer un tissu imperméable qui conserve également la chaleur.
En 1968, Yoneichi crée sa société sous le nom de Yoneshichi Shoten Co. LTD en hommage au magasin de ses parents et du prénom de son père. Avec le temps, le nom a été raccourci pour devenir ON-YO-NE!
