The Story of a Young Motivated Prop
The end of last year I received a message from young Sam Eden
He said âCoach I need Help ! I have picked up weight â . I replied âWelcome back Brotherâ !
He was one of the first to join the ZUU Rugby Team in April 2020. He is what I call on of the Originals.
Eventually he stopped because of his full School and Rugby Schedule even though I told him he could manage it. At the time he was 16 years old. He plays prop and is part of the Waratahs Academy in Australia.
When he contacted me last year, he said that since he stopped doing ZUU , he picked up weight and his fitness went down.
I said to him âDonât worry Brother ! We got you ! Your Team has your backâ
He started his ZUU Strength 30 Day Journey start of January 2021. In less than one month he achieved the following :
1. Beat his BRONCO TEST by 45s
2. Lost over 7KG in less than 30 Days
How good is that ! In the ZUU Strength Evolution I provide players with the tools to achieve their Goals. The most important is Mental Resilience.
This young man is an INSPIRATION to all props out there Proud of you Brother ! INSPIRE ONE INSPIRE MANY

I canât believe itâs been almost a year since I started doing ZUU!!
At first it was quite intimidating (doing some serious crazy moves with rugby players... haha - luckily I wasnât the only woman on boardđ)
So thought I would just try it out... at the time I was quite tired
and bored with my usual workout routine and wanted SOMETHING different SOMETHING THAT ACTUALLY WORKS! and to help me maintain âhealthy/good looking â toned muscles and melt some extra & unwanted âkillerjoulesâ đđ„
Quickly the teamâs energy, interest and motivation got me thinking thereâs more!
Coach G (Gurthro Steenkamp) always shares and inspires, and pushes us forward! Really enjoyed it, still do and couldnât wait for the next live session!
Really started to feel more confident and being accountable helped me to push harder and encourage my team.
Within two months I noticed one day that I could keep up with most moves and actually do a combination of pushups đȘđ»- never before could I do a proper push-up! That feeling that day was incredible! Yay! I can do this !! đ€©I felt my body getting stronger each week and with the awesome connection and the support from a team exercise became FUN AND CHALLENGING AND EXCITING! Determination to set better goals etc also kicked in... & bonus... my body looks and feels great, Iâve never in my life been able to maintain toned muscles as I have with Zuu!
In ZUU there are NO egos, you donât need a specific fitness level and no equipment. Since you can move at your own pace and have your own âentry pointsâ you are in charge of your body and even though at the start it seems and feels difficult it is actually very doable, and the more you do it the better you challenge yourself! đđ»đȘđ»
Zuu definitely liberates the body and pushes your mind to the limits! Unfortunately during December I got covid, and was robbed of my strength and endurance. Even though I had covid I wanted to stay in charge of my body and not let my hard work go to waste so I did the moves very slowly & smart each day and it actually helped me stay strong and helped relieve my body from the aches and pains. Wasnât easy but was determined to get better and recover in a good way.
Zuu not only challenges you each session you do it, but connects you with a team who actually cares about each other!
Thanks to Zuu, I am mentally&physically stronger to take on my other daily tasks. During Zuu sessions your body and mind gets time to work and relax - and itâs time you spend on you - To better yourself to be better out there! Definitely love the Zuu and would recommend it to anyone out there - whatever other sports or no sports you do, throw Zuu in the mix and youâll be surprised!

Geckos đŠ is one of ZUUâs toughest movements.
Or at least for me it is. If you asked me years ago if I could do this, I would say HELL NO !!
When I attempted this movement for the first time, I realised how poor my upper body strength is and that I still needed to work on my shoulder mobility. I could not even come close to be straight, my arms where way forward.
Now a few months later I can finally do this movement with more range of motion. This is probably the closest I will ever come to a handstand but HEY ! Itâs good enough for me ! Still much to improve one but this is PROGRESS and I am proud of myself!
This drill is grueling and demands so much from your whole body as well as your mind. ZUU is all about empowering people with movement.

The Story of A Strong Man from the UK đŹđ§

Before I took up ZUU I was a rugby player who also dabbled in Strongman. I had done a number of competitions and was a fairly consistent 1st XV replacement. I was about 110kg and was completely unable to touch my toes and my flexibility was atrocious. I often trained alone and found myself struggling with motivation to get fitter, I focused on lifting weights and nothing else. I hated running and my fitness was awful.
I took up ZUU as a High Intensity training method, I didn't understand what it was and what it was going to become for me. It is so much more than fitness or HiiT training. I have lost nearly 7kg, my flexibility and mobility have improved no end and I find myself more mentally resilient in my day to day life. I can't wait to get back to rugby training and see what other benefits have come from the last 3 months.
I get up at 5:15am every Monday (strength), Wednesday (HiiT) and Friday (Mental Resilience) for our sessions and I bounce out of bed. I love seeing everyone on the ZUU Rugby Team, seeing them push themselves and also having a competitive side to the sessions. Motivation is not hard to come by in the team and the replay team are so dedicated to what they do it gives everyone strength.
As well as that there is support and friendship, every single member of the team has messaged me personally and had a conversation.

Before I started with ZUU I weighed 105KGs. I struggled sometimes with my hip/knee flexion/mobility and my range of motion wasnât good at all. My mental toughness wasnât really strong.
At some point when pressure becomes too much, it fractured. I couldnât go further anymore and push through the situation and stress. My body in physical and mentally kind of way just surrendered at some stage when it becomes to much...
ZUU changed my life in that kind of way, that when I started my journey with the ZUU Rugby Team in April 2020 during the 1st lockdown, I dropped almost 10KGs in 3 month, improved my range of motion immensely and help me to fix my hip/knee flexion/mobility and gave me tools to work on it.
Also I feel better, fitter and stronger day by day mentally and physically. ZUU gave me a daily routine to work on myself mentally and physically on a daily basis and challenge me every time. But most of all ZUU present me this special bond of our ZUU Rugby Team.
It is so much more than just a way to stay fit. It gave us this special bond between us, each member of this group even though we never met us in real life.
It feels not only to be part of a group or community. It feels like a family which stand up for each other day in day out and so much more what words cannot even describe.
We are brothers and sisters from all around the world who unites a special bond. We might live apart but united in our hearts. We are the ZUU Rugby team.
The ZUU Rugby Team is a part of my life which I donât want to miss anymore!
