As the year draws to a close, we want to thank our captain and inspiration, Rigoberto Urán, for everything he has done for our team over the past nine years.
If bike races were held in arenas, we would hang Rigo’s jersey from the rafters. Fourteen victories, including stage wins at the Giro d’Italia, the Vuelta a España, and the Tour de France, an Olympic medal, and overall podiums at the Giro and the Tour – Rigo has always transcended his impressive list of results. He’s number one in the hearts of millions of fans, a role model for our riders, a light who shows us how to face our hardest days on the bike with a smile, and an athlete who balanced the demands of pro sport with a healthy, successful life.
From now on, we will race to live up to his legacy. It’s been an honor sharing the road with you, Rigo. Gracias.
