Clwb Chwaraeon Aberaeron Sports Club / Bowls

Today was the official opening day of the bowling green at Aberaeron Sports Club. The President Mr. Mansel Hughes welcomed everyone to the club and wished them all the best for the 2025 bowling season. Before the customary spider and a round robin of games between eight teams of 4, the president gave a perfect demonstration to this years Men’s Captain Stan Tear of how to bowl a wood correctly.

For those of you that may not be aware Heulwen Morgan has recently taken up the position of President of Welsh Lawn Bowls. Llongyfarchiadau Heulwen.

What a great night down at the club for the annual Turkey Bowls competition. Well done to everyone that took part and massive thank you to everyone involved in making it happen. Organising, catering officiating, bar helping, raffle tickets selling etc. At approximately 12.30 when the final game was completed the winner was Meirion Jones. Runner up went to Juliet Jones. Today was the final Final. Well done to Bryan, Lloyd, Graham and Gwyn winning the Mens Rinks.

Well done to all those who played in the Rose Bowl semi-final yesterday in Aberystwyth. We played against a good strong team from Builth Wells who pipped us at the post by 9 points after a hard fought close game. A great set of photos can be found by clicking on the link.
