⚽️ GOALS AT THE WEEKEND ⚽️

A mixture of goals at the weekend across the firsts and youth games.

Including a lovely strike from Dylan King on the edge of the box and a well taken penalty from Jack Evans for the firsts.

The youth also got amongst the goals, starting off with a well worked goal slotted away by Tom Price. Then another in the second half with a well struck effort from Logan Greenslade forcing an error from the keeper, and finally a free kick put into a dangerous area by Harleigh Evans which ended up catching the keeper out.

Full Time Result: Abervalley FC Youth 3 - 3 AFC Bargoed Youth

The youth were unlucky to not get the 3 points today after a solid performance. We started the game strong playing some nice football which led to the first goal which was taken well by Tom Price. The boys kept on pushing for the second creating lots of chances and were unlucky to be 3-0 up by half time.

We were forced into some changes in the second half after picking up a few injuries but the boys started the second half well and managed to get the second goal 10 minutes into the half though a well taken goal by Logan Greenslade.

Abervalley came back into the game after the second goal throwing lots of men forward, scoring two goals in quick succession then another to take the lead right at the death.

But the boys showed great character and found the equaliser with the last kick of the game, which came from a free kick scored by Harleigh Evans.

🏆 Today's MOTM was Lewis Bagstaff who put in a top defensive performance down the right hand side making lots of crucial tackles and interceptions.

AFC Bargoed Reserves vs Treforest Development - Match Abandoned

The reserves game yesterday had to be abandoned after Chrissy Franklin picked up an injury that needed paramedics at the scene.

Chrissy was taken into hospital and is now on the mend and doing well.

Thanks to everyone at the scene who helped, we wish Chrissy a speedy recovery 💙

Full Time Result: AFC Penrhiwceiber 3 - 2 AFC Bargoed

The boys fought hard yesterday but it wasn't to be. The opposition came out fast creating a few early chances taking one of them on the 26th minute. But the boys showed great character to bounce back 10 minutes later with a nice bit of play and a lovely strike from Dylan King that flew into the top corner.

The home side were pushing for the second and managed to get it 20 minutes into the second half, then scored another with about 10 minutes to go after a few individual errors.

With not long to go the boys still fought on and managed to win a penalty in stoppage time which was put away calmly by Jack Evans, but there just wasn't enough time to get the equaliser.

A difficult spell for us in the league at the moment but we keep on pushing 💪🏻
