· want to avoid the commitment of playing for a team or regular 5’s game

· just want to play around their own schedule, when they feel like it on a pay-as-you-go basis

The original idea around FitnessThruFootball was to create an exercise class that incorporates football. This was due to the monotony of regular exercise classes; we wanted to establish enjoyable sessions that would encourage long-term commitment and regular exercise. To kick-start the programme, we plan to organise Summer Sevens, grass-roots 7-a-side football played outdoors at a location within Aberdeen. We are currently in talks with the council and Sport Aberdeen to finalise the rental of this location. We are also investing in goalposts, footballs, bibs, markers and various other equipment and insurances. Furthermore, we are planning to organise Gala Days on a bi-monthly basis. This is to give our participants the chance to compete in a tournament environment and will involve prizes for winning teams and a post-tournament dinner and prize-giving. Key to Summer Sevens success will be getting a strong base of players so we encourage all parties to share this group with their friends, colleagues or any other associates who may be interested. The level of interest will help determine how many sessions to run and will also inevitably help us to keep the programme running. Sessions will be booked on an individual basis (no need to organise a team). We aim to make the booking process as simple as possible so no more dashing around for change. Sessions can be booked and paid for in advance online from the comfort of your own desk, home computer or even mobile phone. We are currently in talks with an online booking system to make the interface as proficient and user-friendly as possible. We plan to run hour long sessions, 3 on a Monday and 3 on a Wednesday, between 18:00 and 21:00. We will release all sessions for the summer months in one go so any session(s) for the whole summer can be booked forthwith. Spaces will be on a first-come-first-served basis so we would encourage interested participants to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Also, if you book and pay for a slot then decide you cannot make it, there will be a “get-out clause”, we will simply ask you to organise someone to take your place and if you require reimbursement, this can be sorted between yourself and the substitute. We will pro-actively encourage you to find a substitute so we will not be short of numbers for games on the night. A game of 5-a-side on a week night seems to set you back around £7 these days, various fitness classes are in excess of this and if you fail to attend your gym regularly then gym membership can be excessive. There is no membership or joining fee so this is all you have to part with per session on a pay-as-you-go basis. Simple! So, FitnessThruFootball Aberdeen summer 2015, allowing you to play football on an individual, pay-as-you-go basis as little or often as you want for the small fee of £5.95 a session.
