If you joined us for the BrewDog Christmas Run 2025, you’ll know how good the tablet was, in the goodie bags and at the checkpoints.

Well, Supersnacktastic are back again this year, and I can promise you, it’s awesome. Definitely all the carbs you need to get you to the finish

Shout out to Elaine-Lawrie's Page, who have made these for us. Give their Supersnacktastic page a follow, and look out for them when they launch their mobile catering trailer later in the year

You have hopefully received the final email for the run from Entrycentral, but I’ll copy it below.

I’m going out the check out the route today and will let you know if there are any updates

Dear BrewDog Runners

What a year it has been for BrewDog - from Bar closures, and then administration of the whole business, we thought this could be the end for the BrewDog Run. But the phoenix is rising from the ashes, and with the retention of DogTap, and the reopening of Castlegate, it's going to be business as usual, for the Summer BrewDog Run next Saturday.

And if you hadn't noticed from all our social media posts, we have a bit of a world cup theme going on - "Yes Sir, I Can Brewgie..."

Key Timings on Saturday 6th June

0945 - 1030 BrewDog Castlegate Registration

1020 Castlegate Run briefing

1030 Castlegate Runners depart

1100 - 11.20 Dyce registration

11.20 Dyce run briefing

11.30 Dyce runners depart

1330-1530 Runners arrive at DogTap

Feel free to decide on the day whether you wish to start in Aberdeen or Dyce.

Aberdeen Registration

Brewdog Castlegate will open for us at 9.45am. Get signed in, and collect your Brewdog Run wristband.
Leave any bags with our bag drop team, to be transported to the finish. Please keep them to a minimum. You only need a change of clothes for getting home, and your beer money.
The run briefing will be at 10.20am. Everyone should be watered, toileted, and ready to go for 10.30am.
If runners want to set off sooner, they can do so, as long as they have registered.
There is no alcohol licence before 11am I'm afraid, so you will have to wait. Early pints in Archbald Simpsons if you must...
Team photo outside the building before we set off

Dyce Registration

Dyce runners can meet us at the Dyce start point, where there will be a separate registration from 11am, and run brief, before setting off at 11.30am.

We will also have a bag drop in Dyce which will transport your bags to the finish.

You are welcome to meet in Castlegate, and then jump on the 9-minute train to Dyce. This is often better for logistics, rather than leaving a vehicle in Dyce.

Trains leave Aberdeen at 10.42 and 11.11, which get you to Dyce for 10.50 or 11.19. Plenty of time

Kit

You don't need to carry much, especially as you have a bag drop for the end. But have a look at the weather conditions and consider taking the following:-

Foil blanket. This is a vital piece of safety kit and should always be part of your running gear
First aid kit. We highly recommend runners carry some first-aid essentials as part of your kit so you can deal with blisters, cuts and the like.
A means of carrying water. We will have rehydration stations at Dyce and Udny Station, but you will still want something in between. After Udny Station, there is no further opportunity to re-supply.
Food. Always best to eat little and often, in order to keep your energy levels up.
Mobile phone with the mobile phone numbers of the Run Director programmed in to it.
Appropriate clothing for the run, bearing in mind the time of year, and the weather forecast.
Appropriate dry clothing for when you arrive. Once you reach DogTap, you will want to get changed. Take advantage of the drop bag facility so that you have a complete change of clothes at the end.
Beer money and Bus Fare home. If you are planning on taking the Park and Ride from Ellon back to Aberdeen, you will need bus fares. This costs around £5 for a single ticket. And don’t forget your beer money (and maybe even one for the volunteers)

Route

Leg 1. Aberdeen to Dyce (10k). The route leaves from BrewDog Castlegate. We will run along Broad Street, in front of Marischal College, and the original BrewDog Bar, before continuing to Gallowgate. We pass under the Mounthooly Roundabout and onto Great Northern Road. We will then cross the Haudagain, and join Auchmill Road. We cross immediately to the north side, and then after Majestic Wine, turn right onto the footpath. Once we rejoin Auchmill Road, we turn right at Total Endurance onto Oldmeldrum Road (past the Staging Post). There's a new layout where it joins Stoneywood Road, but it is all runnable. When you get to Dyce, turn left at Station Road, through Dyce Station car park, and on to the grassed area immediately to the north of the station, for our first Rehydration Station.

Leg 2. Dyce to Udny Station (13k). Head north on the Railway Line, past Newmachar and on to Udny Station to the next checkpoint

Leg 3. Udny Station to Ellon (8k). Continue to head north on the Railway Line. This bit is nearly all downhill. Cross the first road crossing and continue to the viaduct over the Ythan.

Leg 4. Ellon to DogTap (3k). After crossing the viaduct, you will be directed to turn right, and follow the orange flags on the riverside path through the town, all the way to Meadows Way, going under the green footbridge. Keep the river on your right. At Meadows Sports Centre, the orange flags will lead you left (north). Cross Castle Road and follow the woodland path all the way through the trees, until you reach the end. Turn right and you have a short hop towards BrewDog. Follow the sound of the pipes and you can't go wrong

Checkpoints

We have two rehydration stations at Dyce Station (10k), and at Udny Station (23k).
The checkpoints will be stocked with beer (along with AF beer), soft drinks, prosecco and snacks.
We will also have portable toilet tents, along with some ladies essentials
We will have water in large containers, but you should take your own cup/bottles to refill.
After Udny Station, there is nothing, so you will need to carry enough to get you through the next 11k.

During the event

Runners should run be as courteous as possible to other pavement users as we run through town. Please wait at traffic lights, and be careful crossing roads.
Remember, it’s not a race!
If you need to retire from the run at any point, please let one of the run team know. You would be able to get home by public transport from Dyce (train or bus) or Newmachar (bus) or possibly get a lift from the Dyce or Udny Station checkpoint. After that, it gets more difficult, but we will find a way.
Look after each other on the course. If you see somebody who is struggling, please take the time to have a word and make sure they’re okay before you carry on. If you’re very concerned about them, let someone know and plan how you can assist them
T-shirts, medals and goodie bags will be awarded, and you will be greeted by the pipers and our finish line team.

Pace and Cut-offs

We need to be fair to our checkpoint teams and tail runners. If you take more than 80 minutes to cover the 10k to Dyce, then we may have to withdraw you. If you want to take it nice and easy, you can always start early, and / or leave from Dyce.

Most people will take between 3 ½ and 5 hours to travel the 34k from Aberdeen to BrewDog. This means a pace of between 6 and 8 minutes per kilometre.

It may be obvious during the first leg to Dyce if you are struggling. Once you depart Dyce, there is very little opportunity to leave the route and make your way home, so it may be that a decision has to be made at Dyce as to whether you continue. This is to ensure the safety of all runners and volunteers.

We will encourage regrouping at the checkpoints, as well as when we run through the town. However, if it is a cold day, we recognise that people may want to keep running, and not be waiting around too long. We can just play it by ear on the day, remembering that it is meant to be a social event.

Arrival at DogTap

Our finish point is at DogTap Ellon. We have the museum room at the rear of the main building booked for us, although you are welcome to enjoy the outdoor seating area if it is a nice day.
Show your wristband, and collect your goodie bag, t-shirt and medal.
Drop bags will be available for collection
Food will be available from the BrewDog menu over the course of the afternoon. We will also have one of the chefs serving Mac & Cheese & chips in the museum room for £10
Otherwise please order food using the QR code on the table and then do not move tables until it arrives

Medals & Goodie Bags

We've gone from homemade paper medals (which people did love) to polymer medals last year, and now for our special World Cup edition, we have awesome steel medals - you're going to love them

You will also get a goodie bag with a snacks, beer, tshirt and other special gifts...

Tshirst are in mens and ladies sizes, and the sizes should match your regular size.

Buses Home

Here is a link to the bus timetables, and there are regular buses back to Castlegate / Union Square from the Ellon Park & Ride (roughly every 20 minutes, stretching to every 30 minutes later in the evening).
The Park & Ride is a 10 minute walk from DogTap, so give yourself plenty time.

Liability

Any consumption of alcohol is at your own risk, and by participating in the BrewDog Run you fully accept this responsibility, and your responsibility towards other people. The organsiers of the run will not be held responsibile for any consequences arising from the consumption of alcohol on the day.

Also, we are grateful of the support of BrewDog, but the run is not organised by them, and they have no liability for anyone taking part.

Please look out for yourself, as well as your fellow runners

Weather

Currently the weather forecast is looking like typical Scottish mixed conditions. Check the latest forecast closer to the run, and dress according to the conditions. Make sure you have dry clothes in your drop bag.

If it has been wet you may want to wear trail shoes, for additional grip . It can get muddy in places. Generally you should be okay in road shoes though.

Waste

Please, please, please – no rubbish should be dropped by anyone. We will have bins at the rehydration stations. Everything else, you can take to the finish.

Thanks

This wouldn’t happen without the great support of a number of people. But special thanks to all of our volunteers, including the teams at registration, drop bags, checkpoints, marshals and finish line team, as well as the on-course support team, for keeping us safe and directing us en route. Thanks also to the BrewDog teams at the start and finish.

We can't wait to see you on Saturday 6th June

🏃🏼‍♂️‍➡️ T O I L E T S 🏃🏻‍♀️

One of the things we have been thinking about is how we can be more supportive of female runners on the route.

Not everyone can just wild wee at the side of the trail

We have always been able to use the toilets at the Spiders Web Pub in Dyce. But then there’s a long gap to Ellon.

This year we will have our own portable toilet tents at the Dyce and Udny Station checkpoints.

And they’ll be stocked with feminine hygiene products too.

Does that mean you can have that extra glass of Prosecco? It sure does…

It was great to see so many BrewDog T-shirts being worn at yesterday’s CGM Kirkhill 8 ultra.

It’s almost like a history of BrewDog runs. When you see at least 10 different colours being worn.

And I even debuted this year’s tshirt - Yes Sir, I Can Brewgie - which you can earn if you sign up for the run on 6th June
