Aberdeen University Boat Club and Robert Gordon University Boat Club are set to collide this spring for the northeast’s ultimate sporting challenge. Both teams will go head to head for what has been billed as the ‘survival of the fittest’ to take the title of the Aberdeen Asset Management Universities' Boat Race champions on Saturday 4th March 2017. With the 2016 race being such a close one, the 2017 race will see both university boat clubs take to the water for a truly epic battle on the Dee.
BBC Scotland stormed the media challenge, winning the race against Northsound 1 in a time of 1 min 8.4 secs.
The results of the first two races are in...
Robert Gordon University won the universities' 2nd crews race in a photo finish, in a time of 2mins 23.9secs.
RGU then stormed to victory once again in the alumni race, winning in a time of 8mins 42.8secs.
Next up is the media challenge at 4.40pm, followed by the title race at 5pm.
