Behind the scenes on the links 💦⛳

We might still be waiting for a proper Scottish summer to arrive, but the greenkeeping team are not leaving anything to chance.

They have been out across the courses, meticulously managing the watering schedules to ensure the turf stays firm, fast, and playing exactly how classic links should. On a coastal course like Murcar Links, balancing moisture levels is a precise science, especially when the goal is to present high-quality surfaces every single day regardless of what the weather throws at us.

A massive thank you to the team for the long hours and attention to detail.

Huge congratulations to Murcar Links member Chris Somers on an absolutely incredible performance over the weekend.

To win the 134th Tennant Cup, the oldest amateur open strokeplay championship in the world, is a massive achievement in itself. But to run away with the title by eight shots with an 11 under par total is something truly special.

Everyone at the club is absolutely thrilled for you, Chris.

Congratulations to Chris Somers of Murcar Links Golf Club on winning the 134th Tennant Cup.

Chris delivered one of the most impressive performances in recent memory, shooting rounds of 73, 66, 68 and 68 for an 11-under-par total, winning by eight shots.

A fitting way to win such a historic event.

If you are out on the links with your dad today, we hope you enjoy the round, regardless of who takes the bragging rights on the 18th green.

There is nothing quite like a bit of family rivalry out on the course. To all the dads, grandads, and father figures at the club, have a brilliant day.

The first groups are officially out on the course for the Senior Gents Stableford Open this morning.

The greenkeeping team have the links prepped and ready for a proper day of competitive golf.

A glowing endorsement from a legend of the game 🏆

A little throwback to when we had the absolute honour of welcoming nine-time major winner Mr Gary Player to Murcar Links, but his compliments about our golf course still resonate with the whole team.

During his visit, Mr Player took the time to play eight holes, chat with our members, share stories with the gallery, and spend time with both the competitors in our Royal Gold Open and the Scottish Senior Ladies team.

Before heading away, he left glowing praise, specifically praising the conditioning of the course and calling our greens some of the very best. When a global icon and master of links golf speaks so highly of your setups, you know the hard work of the greenkeeping team is paying off.

Although we are still waiting for the summer weather to truly kick in, both of our links courses are in outstanding condition right now.

A huge shout-out has to go to our greenkeeping team. They pour hours of blood, sweat, and tears into the courses to ensure the setups are immaculate, and we have had so much positive feedback from members and visitors alike over the last few weeks. From the crisp fairways to the true running surfaces on the greens, the hard work is clear to see.

Whether you are testing yourself against the championship layout or enjoying a round on the Strabathie course, there is no better time to experience Murcar Links.

Junior Summer Golf Camps at Murcar Links 🏌️‍♂️

Looking to keep the kids active and learning a new skill this summer? Registration is now open for our Junior Summer Golf Camps this July. Hosted by our PGA Professional, James Johnston, these camps offer a fun, friendly, and completely safe environment for young golfers to learn and improve their game.

We have two separate three-day camps available:
