King of the North Box Cup

What a weekend of boxing! From start to finish, the bouts were absolutely fantastic!

The feedback we’ve received has been nothing short of amazing, and we’re all still buzzing with how the event turned out. Considering the short time we had to pull everything together, the King of the North Box Cup was a massive success – and we’re already looking ahead to growing it even bigger next year!

Hosted by CAIN Boxing Club and Granite City Boxing Club, and proudly run by Boxing Scotland, the event was held at Bucksburn Academy on the 7th and 8th of June. It now stands as the biggest boxing event ever held in the North of Scotland.

A few sleepless nights worrying about costs, venues, dropouts and logistics… but it was all worth it. We absolutely nailed it.

It was incredible to see so many young boxers get the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of a true boxing-loving crowd. Every boy, girl, man and woman who stepped through those ropes this weekend done themselves and clubs proud.

We had clubs travel from all over – including as far as Sweden – and the support throughout the entire weekend was unbelievable.

We want to say a massive thank you to every single person who played a part in making this event happen:

There was some issues with the live stream at the weekend and we are all as frustrated as you are, on Saturday there was an issue with Vimeo servers that meant things didn’t run as smoothly as they should have and on the Sunday some of the fans or boxers were unplugging the stream to charge their mobile phones.

All of the footage has been recorded and will be available to view as soon as PCL manage to get them uploaded.

Once again apologies for this but it was out of our control.

HOW TO FIND US

We look forward to welcoming everyone to the box cup over this weekend at Bucksburn Academy.

The box cup is located at the back of the school and not through the main entrance, so please park in the main car park and at the side of the car park, you will see a cycle path that goes right around the school, past some outdoor basketball courts. Keep following that path all the way around until you get to the side door to the hall where the boxing event will be.

There will be no entry at the main school front door.

Aberdeen to host major international boxing tournament as fighters from overseas jet in Aberdeen-based Cain Boxing Club and Granite City Boxing Club have partnered with Boxing Scotland to deliver the King of the North Box Cup.

BOXING Scotland are delighted to release the Running Orders for the inaugural King of the North Box Cup.

The event, which is being hosted by Northern District clubs CAIN Boxing Club and Granite City Boxing Club, is due to take place this weekend on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June 2025 at Bucksburn Academy in Aberdeen.

For the purposes of understanding the draw, the following boxers will compete in the following rings;

RING A – Junior and Elite boxers.

RING B – Schools and Youth boxers.

The weigh-in for the Box Cup will take place from 8-10am, with boxing commencing from Noon each day.

Boxers only weigh-in on days that there are scheduled to compete.

Please note that there will be a 0.2kg weight allowance for all boxers in the Box Cup.
