Another great win in a school tournament for Rachel and her team this week!

The U17 and U21 season may be over for the year, but that doesn't mean that the curling is over!

This weekend is the Scottish Junior Mixed Doubles competition in Dumfries. We're back to Jen & Bruce. There were qualifiers in the autumn for this as there were so many teams wishing to take part, which is great for curling!

Rachel is playing with Elliot Cullerton from Team Rankin
Kirrin is playing with Hayden Whitelaw from Team McRobert

What a weekend!

We qualified for the finals knowing that we were the overall winning female team for the season and went into the semi-final against Curl Team Bauer on the Sunday morning, this was a controlled game which we won.

Then to the final against Drummie. Both teams were unbeaten all weekend and we started very well, stealing 2 ends. Then there was a bit of a disaster when we lost 5 - but we held our heads up high and chipped away at them, entering the final end with the hammer 2 stones down. The end was textbook - we were looking for a two to force an extra end and we played it very well. The entire competition came down to the last stone when Amber managed to draw in, under huge pressure for a 3!
Thank you for a great final, Team Drummie!

This meant that we were also overall winners for the Asham U17 series for the 2025-26 season.

Well done to the other High Road Finalists, Team McRobert and Ward

Huge well done to the low road winner Castle Curlers and all other low road finalists.

Fantastic well done to the over all mixed season winners, Team Asham.

Our wonderful coach Claire Perras who has nurtured us all season is amazing and we would like to say thank you - although that isn't enough!

It is brilliant on International Day for Women that an all female team has won the U17 Asham series!

We are delighted that Morag & Stewart got to the quarter final and Rachel & Elliot got to the semi final in the Mixed Doubles - well done to you both.

It was lovely to see one of Sam's team mates Fraser with his partner Rebecca got to the final and huge congratulations to Holly & Finlay winning the event.

The best news was the amount of money that was raised in Sam's memory. The just giving page is still open if you wish to donate

Thank you Curl Aberdeen for a great event.

3 of us are off up to Curl Aberdeen this weekend to play in the Sam Rocks Mixed Doubles.

Think Bruce and Jen. Some stones are already placed and it is then a quick fire game, with each team only playing 5 stones in an end - the females usually playing the first and last and the males usually playing the mid three.

Morag is with Stuart Hamilton - Skea/Hamilton - Section A
Rachel is with Elliot Cullerton - Eadie/Cullerton - Section B
Amber is with Finlay McGregor - Perras/McGregor - Section B

From Curl Aberdeen Page:
The competition is being held in memory and celebration of our dearly missed Sam Lynch, friend to many competing, and we’d love to support and raise money for The Canmore Trust during the weekend. Raising awareness of mental health and su***de prevention and postvention. Donations can be made if desired via https://www.justgiving.com/page/samrocks - thank you ❤️

FANTASTIC result for Rachel and her brilliant team from Kinross High School Kinross Curling Club winning the Schools Championship at Perth over the weekend.

The other team mates were there with their schools too, but it was Rachel along with her brother Harry, and Finlay and Max who now have their names on the wonderful trophy!

Well done Rachel!

Due to the snow the Aberdeen leg of the U21 was postponed from last week. Sadly not all teams could manage this weekend with only 4 ladies teams competing. This leaves a strange position that we will all play each other in the section games and all qualify for the finals on Sunday. This is U21 and so we are back to ladies and men's sections with full 8-end games.

We will celebrating not matter what, as it is Kirrin's Birthday this weekend. What a fabulous way to spend your birthday!

First up is Team Archibald this evening. Good Curling all!

We are delighted that we came 3rd overall out of 16 teams, after the two days in Forfar.

We were disappointed not to win our semi-final, but take some consolation that the only team that we lost to all tournament was the eventual winners! Very well played, McRobert!

We then came out all guns blazing in the 3rd/4th playoff against Team Church - it was a good game - thank you ladies.

Congratualtions to Team McRobert on winning the high road and to Team Ward for winning the low road.

This leg of the tournament has shaken up the overall leaderboard, we now lie 2nd, with all to play for in the next (last) U17 Slam in March in Lockerbie. But before then we have lots more curling - next up is the U21 in Aberdeen 9th-11th January.

Three fantastic games yesterday! We were top of our section, meaning that we are through to the finals today. We play Team McRobert in the semi-finals

The Curl Team Bauer match in our section was a re-run of the last final and it was again a close match which we won. Good luck boys in the Low Road!
