SNCL Round 5 & 6

Bon Accord recently played 2 rounds in Dunfirmline for the Scottish National Chess League in Division 1.

For rounds 5 & 6 we played against Forth Valley A & Hamilton A (Current League Leaders).

Forth Valley A 1.5 - 3.5 Bon Accord
Bon Accord 1 - 4 Hamilton A.

Aberdeen Chess Congress 2026

The Bon Accord Chess club is delighted to announce the return of the Aberdeen Chess Congress

The Congress will take place on the 10th-12th of April 2026.

It will be a 3 day Event with 3 sections.

Sections: Open | Major (1800) | Minor (1400)

Time Controls: 90 minutes with 30s increment from move 1.

The Congress will take place at Curl Aberdeen.

Club Update

Due to the weather, the club will be closed tomorrow. It will reopen “weather permitting” next week on the 14th followed by Chess coaching starting back up on Sunday 18th.

Festive / New Year Update 🎄♟️

The 17th of December will be the last day the club will be open this year. We will reopen the 7th of January.

No Junior Coaching Sundays this year until the 11th of January.

We will be holding a Xmas blitz tournament on the 17th at the club. Come show off your speed at the club!

Bon Accord sent 2 teams to stonehaven for Rnd 3 of the NE League, did we prevail?

Some unfortunate Scoring for Bon Accord 1 with a clean sweep for Stonhaven Cowie possibly due to 2 defaults, whilst good news for Bon Accord Rooks with a 2.5-1.5 score against Stonehaven Carron meaning BA Rooks stay top spot in the league after round 3.
